Coronation Street enjoys yet another Monday bounce, only for it now lose momentum before it turns up again on Thursday. EastEnders is performing very strongly, and Emmerdale's share in healthy.

Who Do You think You Are? is a clear example of a BBC2 show being promoted to BBC1 and continuing to excel. I'm starting to wonder how long it'll be until Dragon's Den makes the switch. Top Gear is still only on the sister channel because Jeremy Clarkson has stated he doesn't want it moved IMO.

And I agree with the earlier post about how ITV should also try promoting shows through the channels rather than risking it all on ITV1. Gavin and Satcey moved well from digital to terrestrial so there's no reason why successful shows on ITV1's sister channels cannot.

Finishing off last night, and Identity has really slipped now - but ITV must've thought it could struggle hence airing it in the summer. Big Brother did reasonably well and Five had a good night at 9 with the film.

I have thought about Dragons Den moving to BBC1 but I think the time has passed for that to happen. Its still only hovering around 3m on BBC2 and there's no guarantees it would take off on BBC1, especially being 8 series old.

WDYTYA was only 2 series old before it moved to BBC1 and that was well over 5m already.

BBC1 wanted Dragons Den a couple of years ago but the Dragons all threatened to quit if it was moved, so they left it on BBC2. It's exceptional really that despite being 8 series old its ratings are as good as ever.

Oh right - so the lack of move is like Top Gear not moving then; thanks to a threat from key members of the 'cast' that they'd quit if the programme changed channel.

When do the schedules for the 1st X Factor show get signed of? Wednesday before isn't it?

Radio Times suggests for Sat 21st:

6:45 : Odd One In
7:30 : Magic Numbers
8:30 : The X Factor
9:30 : TBA Film Slot

So only an hour for XF - isn't the 1st show normally 90 minutes?

Yeah apparently the Dragons feared it would become too much of an entertainment show rather than a business show if it moved, although personally I'd argue it became more of an entertainment show a few years ago and it gets more like X Factor every series with the OTT shots of the Dragons at the start of every episode!

I won't be surprised if that is wrong and The X Factor runs for 90 minutes. Won't the schedule be signed off tomorrow? I could be wrong, but I think the schedule is signed off on Wednesday for the next Monday-Sunday - so tomorrow's signed off schedules will cover 16th August to 22nd August.

I agree - it really has become more entertainment than business now. I still enjoy watching it, but it seems to have a different focus now.

yeah i wasn't sure - i though it might be the previous Wednesday before the week, like you say.

I'm sure one of the ratings "god's" (D.M.N, rzt ) will be able to tell us in the morning!

Great rating for Top Gear. Glad it's doing well over there. Has their local version been scrapped?

Lol, please don't call me 'god' again ! Fudd's right, the schedules for that week will be finalised tomorrow afternoon. Like Fudd, I'm expecting the X Factor to extend to 90 minutes for the opening episode.

well along with D.M.N you are the ratings bank of knowledge!

Yeah i though it was the Wednesday before. So tomorrow will see the final schedule! I think for the last few series at least it's always had a 90 min opener - so would be suprised if it doesn't - unless there trying to lengthen the series out this year! Based on last years when does anyone know when this series will end?

Haha.

spkx confirms above 7:30 to 9:00, and I think the user has inside press information, so that's almost certainly correct.

Are those C4 ratings with +1? BB's ratings just wont move from the 2.3-2.4m mark now

The Bill breaks 3m for the first time in ages!

It trumped 'Ladette To Lady', which had 852k (6.3%) and 12k (0.1%) viewers in HD. This programme might've done a little better in an earlier 8pm/9pm slot somewhere.

I think it might have got complaints if they aired it earlier, it was quite a harrowing thing to watch, 2 girls running into full traffic. Might have been alot of complaints pre-watershed.

So BBC's loss in viewers at 9pm is ITV's gain. Or people are realising that The Bill is finishing soon, which may lead to nice rises maybe...

I hope The Bill and Heartbeat finish on relative highs - Heartbeat about 6.5m, The Bill about 4m. And I hope ITV have documentaries ready to show on both shows.

Wow, very good rating for Madness in the Fast Lane! That's a really good example, actually, of how to utilise the 10:35pm slot with documentaries of that nature.

Impressive! Very rare for the 10:35pm BBC One show to beat ITV1's 9pm programme.

It was an excellent well made documentary, both gripping and shocking in equal measure. A story well worth telling, even if the programme did raise more questions than answers!

I thought that Fox News had tried to get younger viewiers with their hollywood - like news reports or was I totally off the mark?
