But the 65+ are less susceptible to advertising and less liekly to switch brands....they know what they like adn they stick to it

After several years absence Monday Night Football returns to Sky Sports tonight. Its a big one too, Man U v Newcastle.

Any predictions?

It's sure to be the largest multichannel audience, but will it beat any of the main five?

I don't suppose BARB have updated their panel with the new BT and TUTV subscribers.

LOL at DSB actually going up in the ratings. I wonder if the final will see it go back to what it started, now that would be funny.

The fact is over 65s will watch lots of Television, 16-34's don't. Thats why advertisers will pay a premium for them as they are so much harder to reach.

Its no wonder Heartbeat has been cancelled”

Thanks for the figures Matt,

Well, hopefully - though I'll be watching it down the pub - and pub viewers does dent audiences.

So, I'm thinking 2-2.5m - Man Utd are always popular, and Monday Night Football is at home on Sky Sports.

Plus - apart from the soaps - there's not much competition.

Really poor start for Must Be The Music.

Same for ITV at 9pm, even losing out to Big Brother which seemed to do a bit better than it has lately?

DSB still isn't doing well, but the good news for Five is that it wasn't embarrassingly low this week and the Cheryl Cole doc and the film made for a far better night than last week.

Brilliant rating for Secret Britain. I heard that it's basically Countryfile but with a different name so maybe we shouldn't be too surprised it did well. There's a big audience for this kind of thing. I thought Vexed would've done better because there was no drama competition at the time and was sandwiched between two well-rated programmes. It's had some poor reviews so I expect it to fall about half a million next week.

ITV just don't get it that people who like to watch factual programmes like the Balloon Adventure are watching Countryfile on BBC1. It's poor scheduling. The first series didn't do too well anyway so why was it brought back in the first place? Another good rating for Heartbeat - it's such a shame that the pressures of commercial television means it can't continue. The demographic point is a fair one though: Identity was getting 1 and a half million fewer viewers than Heartbeat for its last two episodes but ITV made more advertising revenue from that due to its younger-skewing and more upmarket audience. Not to mention Heartbeat's reportedly more expensive than 90% of ITV's other dramas.

Very poor for the Jeremy Beedle show, I guess its ratings are dependent on who the show is focussing on. Big Brother did quite well compared to last Sunday and good to see Don't Stop Believing's audience nearly double week-on-week. Its rating is still lower than the pre-series expectations but I'm glad it rallied back from last week's series low. Looks like Dancc was right - there's only enough room for one singing talent show at the moment and that's The X Factor.

Yes, it did. The BBC even 25 minutes of swimming scheduled at 7pm on BBC3 that they replaced with Great Movie Mistakes.

They must have been swimming faster than expected.

I think they were supposed to be airing Tom Daley's defence of his European title in those slots but it was dropped when he pulled out due to injury.

I think that's poor for MBTM considering the immense hype and advertising campaign. And on the same night DSB stages somewhat of a mini recovery.

Saturday episodes are notoriously low in viewing figures

mainly because everyone knows who's been evicted, so half of the show is redundent. The only time Saturday shows got decent(ish) figures was when they had the live tasks

21/30 for BBC3! I think that's their best ever m/c performance, isn't it? With 1.7% share, they're starting to get close to ITV2/3 (which considering BBC3's limited broadcast hours is pretty good going).

ITV2's ratings are missing from that list. Good performance from BBC3 nevertheless.

yep no ITV2 progs, but hopefully will be in 6 weeks

you guys might want to re-do 20th June 2010, first set of amendment progs. I think the plan is to get backdata on website over next few weeks, as well as normal amendments from 20/06/10 onwards (which'll be fun for me to do)

Wednesday will be your day to check, though I'll try to post on here to let you know otherwise

Aah! Tks. Looking at the previous weeks figures, it looks like the "Peter/Katie" shows should be on that list (if they were on that week) so the last two BBC3 shows would drop off the bottom...

I think you have to give it some credit really. Going into the series 1m was probably not what they had in mind, but to almost double its audience week-on-week is very good going and I'm willing to bet even Five were pleasantly surprised with that result in what's been a difficult week for the broadcaster.

Matilda is very reliable though and would have delivered a solid lead-in.
