Interesting HD figures for Discovery that week!!

Man Vs Fish with Matt Wilson, (Tuesday, 9pm), SD 35,000, HD 37,000

Two thousand more watching in HD than SD.

I wonder how many more examples there are when the HD audience is higher than SD?

The following week, New Tricks could start on any day apart from Saturday and maybe Monday. I wouldn't even rule out Fridays because there's exactly 10 weeks before Children in Need so New Tricks would slot in perfectly, and there's recent form of BBC dramas airing on Fridays (Ashes to Ashes/Silent Witness). Comedies could be on Thursdays like earlier in the year.

Apparently it's been changed to an Inspector Lynley Mysteries repeat. I think the BBC didn't want to compete against ITV's England Euro 2012 Qualifier, but it is weird seeing My Family moved around and delayed so much mid-series.

Regarding scheduling, I've read that 71 Degrees North will begin on Tue 14th Sep on ITV1. So it'll probably do badly in the Tuesday FlopZone. I had the wrong idea and thought it was going to be their big new reality show but it looks like it's on the same level as stuff like All at Sea and 7 Days on the Breadline which had celebrities taking part and rated badly. 3-4m max in that slot I think.

I'm wondering if they've gone back to the original plan of only having a seven-part series of My Family this year.

The DVD is due out at the start of September. It had previously been delayed until the end of October. However, if the DVDs have been pressed with nine episodes, they'll have to schedule the remaining two eps pretty quickly, or delay the DVD again!

Just seen video of this. Give that E4 announcer a raise, he was on fire last night.

"We've really run out of things to show you, so until normal programmes start again at 6, here's a slide with some words on it... enjoy!"

Earlier he joked about how a Christmas episode of The Cleveland Show was being broadcast in the summer. "Yes, we know it's August, but we've paid for it so we're going to show it anyway."

Really funny guy. E4 have got a gem in him. Anybody know who it is?

With New Tricks running later in the year too, by October we'll be seeing BBC One with its strongest 9pm drama (New Tricks*), its strongest factual entertainment (The Apprentice) and its strongest entertainment (SCD) on air all at once. Pretty big batch of shows as ITV had with TXF, Doc Martin and Benidorm all coinciding last autumn. It'll be interesting to see where NT airs. I hope not Friday. Theres no particularly strong comedy coming up to justify pushing it from Thursdays so I think thats where it'll stay.

A shame about 71 Degrees as the format sounded strong. I was dissapointed they'd decided to give it the celeb treatment but still thought it would get s weekend slot.

* Maybe debatable now. New Tricks will do well to top the series average of Sherlock.

A slightly bizarre schedule from BBC1 on that Friday - obviously they don't want to put new shows against the England qualifier. Maybe they feel they owe Adrian Chiles or something so they won't contest the night.

ITV1 had a reasonable night for a flop zone. I can understand why they're airing Farewell The Bill at 10.35 but I think they should have risked it in the 9pm slot on Monday as a prelude.

I agree considering it's a popular drama that is still capable of 4m viewers even in its present format (was getting that on Thurs before the disastrous Tues move).

So is that one being recorded early or is there going to be a Wednesday night special?

What about Dancing on Ice?

ITV should swap X Factor and BGT over, X Factor airing March-July, BGT from October-December
