Nah, they ran Take Me Out and Mr and Mrs back to back earlier in the year and Magic Numbers sounds more like a variety show with a gameshow element anyway so it shouldn't be too bad. If executed right, they could both do fairly well, and 101 Ways To Leave A Gameshow doesn't look that bad either. Tonight's The Night is going to be the lottery format this Summer, and if it's anything like the last series I hope it does abysmally. As for 71 Degrees North, I'm not sure if it's going to be a Saturday night show, and I think it may end up on Thursdays at 9pm from July 29 once Homes From Hell is done.

As you said does seem at bit strange to have 2 gameshow - but at it's better than Animal's do the funniest things!

There's supposed to be one final 4-part series of Mistresses on this summer. I'll wager it'll be stripped across one week - possibly this one.

It'll have little publicity because it didn't do very well previously, hence the reason (probably) that it only has 4 episodes.


It'll be Barrowman's Tonight's The Night which has inexplicably been given a second series and is becoming a lottery format.

I think 71 Degrees North will do fairly well. I don't expect outstanding ratings from it but if its not on a Friday night then it will get respectable ratings of 4-5m.

One plus is that they have Kate Thornton presenting it and Andrew Castle is suppose to be a contestant so they will no doubt heavily promote it across GMTV/This Morning/Loose Women.

The tennis and evening football did pretty well, but James Corden struggled being on such a late time. The afternoon football was low which is a shame considering which match it was. Big Brother also was low considering it was an eviction show, but that was probably down the football. All the news programmes had a bad night.

That doesn't look right.

Final group tees off at 2.30pm. Play should finish just before 7pm. Even allowing 30 mins for prize giving and wrap-up coverage should end by 7.30pm.

It can't be scheduled any later because if there is a tie, there has to be time for a 4 hole play-off which takes another hour.

Obviously IF there is a play-off then coverage will go past 8pm.

Wow ITV really is getting slaughtered recently, BBC1 is lucky to be getting the bigger World Cup matches. ITV has been in trouble ever since Britains Got talent finished, with the biggest being last week when BBC1 had the England match on.

I didn't think it would be worse than when England played Germany last Sunday!

Isn't that very good for BB? Isnt that the highest rated Saturday episode?

ITV did OK, its clear the audience they're going for and pretty much allowing for the World Cup to attract as many viewers as possible, its only benefitting themselves when they show the next matches. X Factor still can't come fast enough for them though.

The 8.6 'share' for ITV must be for all day. Primetime share is from 7pm to 11pm and for ITV to get 8.6%, it'd require a negative share from between 10pm and 11pm which is impossible.

Probably decided to schedule a longer slot then show a filler if the golf wraps up early, rather than having the inevitable complaints if they put a filler in the schedules then have to pull it due to the golf.

Looks like they've done something similar with Wimbledon today, scheduling it through to 6.20pm - but looking at the schedules I suspect if the mens final is wrapped up by 5pm or so they'll probably switch to BBC2 an hour earlier and put some filler on BBC1.

What on earth did ITV expect when they scheduled 'Animals Do The Funniest Things' and a repeat of 'Midsummer Murders' as primetime Saturday night entertainment....

The only reason they put them on was because they may have had the Saturday night game.

In the Netherlands, 11.2m watched the Brazil Vs. Netherlands match on Friday. Amazing considering the country has only got a population of 16m.

Impressive ratings for yesterday's World Cup matches, and those numbers don't even include HD. The afternoon match rated nearly as much as what a lot of evening matches have been rating. If the semi finals follow the same pattern as the last World Cup, we could be seeing a 8m+ average on Wednesday.

Poor day for ITV1 - the BBC's lineup of sports totally squeezed them out. You're always going to have a bad evening when Animals Do The Funniest Thing is occupying a 7pm slot. Regarding Midsomer Murders, it did get nearly 4m the other day so I can see why ITV scheduled that for last night. It would've been pointless launching new shows against the football.

That's a good Saturday rating for Big Brother. Not often does it get over 2m (including +1) on Saturdays these days, and it was their joint second highest Saturday rating since 2008. It'll suffer this week, however, due to the poor slots it's been given.

Very strong rating for the football matches yesterday, and in turn a poor night for ITV. Midsomer repeats are fine in the week or on Sundays but they're not Saturday night material so it isn't surprising that it did badly. Whilst I agree it was pointless them starting anything new, they could have at least shown something more suitable for a Saturday night like a Best of TV Burp repeat and a BGT Best and Worst auditions show. Good for BB though.

And in daytime too.

ITV pretty much got thrashed by BBC1, but obviously thats expected.

And yes poor slots for BB however today its on at the 9pm slot with no football competition.

LOL at people saying that 2m was a good audience for BB.

No-one's comparing yesterday's rating to the averages it was getting a few years ago. Of course the viewing figures are down compared to then, by quite a bit. But for how BB rates these days, 2.1m was a pretty good rating for a Saturday highlights show. It rated better than 13 of the last 15 Saturday episodes, so by its own standards it did well.

What you've just said is similar to saying EastEnders' rating last week was poor because it used to get an average of 10m a few years ago. Of course in reality, EE's rating was actually decent for what we expect of it these days on Wednesdays. And similarly, BB's rating wasn't bad either for what we expect of it on Saturdays.

Indeed, how the mighty have fallen. Both Eastenders & Corrie at the end of June 2002 got 11.7m viewers

In context of how it has been doing lately, 2.1m is a good figure especially on a Saturday. Saturday has always been a struggle for BB, and BB3 aside it has struggled to do well e.g. one Saturday during BB5 (when it had a 4.9m overnight average) it only got 2.5m viewers.

The average so far is about half a million up on last year- the first series to increase on the previous year since 2006.
