I wasn't watching X-Factor either. I'll start watching it when it gets past the laughing at the mentally ill and delusional people and there are people with talent to watch.

I managed to avoid TXF - the opening episodes are so tired now - talk about cliched performances, I cannot see the viewing figures climbing.
Having said that BBC1 didn't provide a lot of competition. UK Saturday night tv needs a shot in the arm for sure. TXF to get 10-11 million viewers? |

Looking to the US, I notice ABC are really pushing No Ordinary Family. They've made the premiere available online for free to the first 50,000 people who click. Most of the feedback is apparently positive. It's also had a logo change, as has The Whole Truth. They have trailers for it everywhere too.
CBS - the network with arguably the biggest schedule changes has been heavily promoting Mike and Molly during its summer hits like Big Brother. I've seen ads for Hawaii Five-O as well. Survivor (moving to Wednesdays after 19 seasons on Thursdays) is odds on to win its slot on Wednesdays. It has also 2 new twists, which should be interesting to see! NBC are hoping for a much better season, after all of their scripted dramas failed last year. To be honest, their new shows do look very good, especially The Event and Chase. The Apprentice (normal version) is also back this year, so they're in pretty good stead. They're advertising The Event heavily (and they should). FOX has got a few talked about new shows such as Lonestar, but as usual, Idol is expected to prop up their ratings again. The CW has got 2 new shows, Hellcats and Nikita. Hellcats looks to be cancelled before Christmas, however there is an air of suspense about Nikita, which has The Vampire Diaries as a lead in, which could be very valuable. |

We didn't watch X-Factor either. We watched the brilliant Tonight's The Night - ordinary people getting to live out their performance dreams. It was a great show last night. Hope it did well

That's excellent for TXF. Most watched launch ever.
Does that even include HD? I presume not based on your previous posts, so with that factored in it could've averaged over 11m last night. Previous launch overnight ratings for comparison purposes: Series 1- 4.9m Series 2- 6.6m Series 3- 7.0m (37%) Series 4- 9.5m (45%) Series 5- 10.2m (48.2%) Series 6- 9.9m (47.9%) Too early to tell how this series will rate generally but it's certainly got off to a strong start. I hope Casualty held up okay... |

If that doesn't include HD, surely we're looking at 11.3m or 11.4m?

That's an excellent rating for X Factor even if it does include HD. If it doesn't then it's well above expectations too.

Boy are the xf-bashers going to be mad with that excepional turn out.
![]() After all these years I come to the realisation theres a very small yet very whin...loud vocal sector on this site hating on txf or anything hugely popular that creates the illusion there's alot more people who hate it in real life. But clearly thats not the case. |

Why not have the ITV News at 10, then the film at 10.15pm so it is not split? I'm guessing they think that everyone will turn off?

Percentage share down on 2 years ago, but I'd put that down to what looks like more people watching TV last night. EDIT: Odd One In second most watched show of the day then! |

BBC1 ratings now posted in my previous post.
I think they did alright considering the circumstances, especially from 9pm onwards. Slightly concerned about Casualty, I hope it doesn't face TXF too much this Autumn. |
