Not sure but it looks like the police are negotiating with someone who possibly is Moat.

As you obviously know

lol what I meant was a banner thingy mentioning the situation with Moat. Surely prompting people to turn from ITV to BBC news lol

The only way we will truly know how it is going down amongst the current audience is looking at the Daybreak audience and seeing the differences in demographics.

I do think ITV have been a bit hasty, they could have made all of these changes but kept the GMTV name (lets face it, if Kate and most of the other reporters/minor presenters are staying then theres no point in bothering changing it anyway) and it would have a fighting chance of not alienating as many people. It could also be worth having 2 sets of presenters e.g. Adrian & Christine Monday-Wednesday and Kate & John Thursday-Friday just for a bit of stability. Then again, Adrian throws fits when he doesn't get to work a 5 day week. But for every argument to keep it, theres an argument to get rid of it. Its a very hard one to call.

On the flip side- its the weakest of the three main ITV daytime shows on FB and only has about 10,000 fans compared to almost 50,000 for This Morning and nearly 60,000 for Loose Women.

ITV should scrap Dickinson's Real Deal, if not at the very least in the North East.”

To be honest i think the people that can be bothered to comment on the facebook page are the ones that dont like it! Most ordinary folk aren't going to think "I like that name , let me go on Facebook" and say so.

And there did need to get red of teh GMTV name tbh - it's assosiated with the Phone in scandal's etc and it GMTV has already been relaunched last January and that obviuoulsy didn't work as the viewing figures have stayed the same really at the most. So completey changing the name is what is needed!

If ITV did have a newsflash in between Dickinson and Corrie, will BARB record it as a separate programme? BARB did that (for some bizarre reason) when they went to a flash election announcement.

It's a music gameshow called The Beat Goes On, presented by Dave Berry and each episode will have two teams of three competing against each other in five different rounds which Broadcast describes as 'all-singing, all-dancing'. Here's where it gets worse though as the teams will also 'be challenged to display their dancing talents and sing hit songs' according to Broadcast. The winning team then goes on to a final round (called the Hotstepper) to win a cash prize. It's a six part series and sounds just like those terrible karaoke things ITV went through a phase of commissioning a few years ago for Saturday nights in the Summer and they all bombed. Also it's being produced by Gallowgate who have a very mixed track record. Airing either late this year or early next year apparently, and will definitely flop wherever it goes.

If by that you mean the bulletin during the final Frost episode then actually according to Attnetional that rating is for the rest of Frost's slot (so the remaining 44 minutes). Haven't a clue why they did that.

We will see the news denting Big Brother tonight and Eastenders and Coronation Street. I watched the EE 10pm rerun.

The news is gripping even though not much is actually going on - can see BBC1 news at 10pm getting 5+ million viewers.

The news does sound confusing Moat in drain at riverbank. also gazza has turned up drunk oh my....

But BB wasn't on at 10pm, so surely it wont be affected.
The second show started at 10:35pm when the news had finished as there was Jonathan Ross on.
Agree about Sky News/BBC news though, they may get big ratings.

Both BBC News and Sky News were very evenly matched in terms of the quality of coverage until a certain someone came on shift in the past hour.

Flicking between the two at various points there wasn't much between them in how they dealt with the developments.

The negotiations seem to be going on for a long time with Mr. Moat - the breaking news hasn't changed in some time.

EastEnders did well with it's hour long special. Emmerdale is faltering with the poor scheduling and ITV need to have a soap rethink with Coronation Street also performing not as well. Big Brother did well, as did The Sex Education Show and Channel 4 are having a really good week.

So it's basically a new version of Night Fever then - probably the only half decent entertainment show Five (well, C5 back then) have ever produced.

Actually quite poor shares for the soaps, EastEnders and Emmerdale dented each other, while Coronation Street's share is poor. I can only assume Big Brother dented both, albeit slightly with viewing split to more than just BBC One and ITV1.

A mention also to BBC Two for a very good performance at 7pm, normally its hovering around 1m in that tough slot. Also, pretty sure America's Got Talent used to be around 500,00 - so ITV2's scheduling has lost in a lot of viewers.

Horrible primetime share for Five, surely one its lowest ever? Surprised it wasn't beaten by a multichannel!”

How come Peter Andre The Next Chapter on ITV2 is shown as getting 4.4% with 945,000 but the Film Comspiracy Theory on 5 is shown as getting 5.3% with 939,000?

so this "Lebron James' Announcement" thingy was that kinda like the Doctor Who Confidential that announced the 11th Doctor, but for the NBA?

Lets hope Sky dont go getting any ideas.

Shame we can't regionalise viewing figures.

I reckon the news channels will be dominating the North East, Sky most likely ahead of the BBC and its deaf reporter

Big Brother last Thursday 1.5m lowest overnight without +1 for this series, possibly in its history?

The ITV2 figure probably also includes ITV2+1, which though gives the higher figure, suggests at 9pm itself Five had the higher figure. The film too would also have been longer and the share given for that is over the duration of the film, not just the hour.

Incorrect - the ITV2 figure doesn't include +1, the +1 figure is located directly underneath (combined figure would be 1.16m (5.6%).

When I said news to dent BB admittedly I thought BB was on at 10pm, but I was also thinking of the bbc news 24/sky news rolling coverage making an impact.

I wonder how many people were watching the news c. 1.00-3.00am - more than normal I would imagine.

Are the sort of people who watch BB really going to opt instead to watch the BBC News Channel on a Friday night?

A lot of BB's core audience (the only ones still watching) think BB *is* the news and their idea of current affairs is Heat magazine.

Well there's a sweeping generalisation of people who choose to watch a TV programme. I am, and have been since the beginning, and avid BB fan. I don't have Heat as my bible, in fact I chose to watch the rolling news during the adverts in BB (noticing that the story was going nowhere anytime soon).

I have no doubt many other BB fans will choose to watch the news, whilst many will want to stick with BB throughout. But the same could be said of the soaps etc.

It's called clutching at straws for its ratings, the other week it was put down to a school prom!

So now if ratings are down it's down to the news, if they are about the same it will declared a massive success.
Desert Rat

The ratings can't be down because of the news. News channels will attract a very different audience to those who will watch BB, whilst both versions of News at Ten will have slotted nicely inbetween the two shows (BB show 1- 9-10pm, BB show 2- 10.35pm-11.25pm- NAT 10-10.35pm).

Coming from someone who is willing to do the show well, it is becoming quite tedious when this thread turns into analysing BB ratings every single day. Thats what the BB11 Ratings Thread is for.

All that said, anything short of 3m for last nights second show is a complete failure.
