Yeah I agree. I'm a huge BB fan but there has been waaaaaay too much BB talk on this thread this year. Isn't there a ratings thread in the Big Brother forum anyway?

Really? I doubt that just because the film ios football related that it would do that much better :/ Silly I think.

Difference is that X Factor averaged 13m last year, whereas it's considered an achievement if BB gets 20% of that, so naturally there should be far more discussion of X Factor than BB on a ratings thread.

It seemed OK when I saw it. But I think once England were out, it was always going to struggle. Following on from Ghana vs USA or whatever, it didn't feel all that relevant. I've never understood the hate for James Corden, but I don't think he's all that special either.

PS: You must have X Factor on your mind. Simon Cowell being on the show was nothing to do with XF.

Corden is a marmite character, this time last year I thought he was universally loved with Gavin and Stacey and his appearnces everywhere but since then, I think his act is wearing thin. I personally don't like him at all, i don't find him funny and for my mates (17-18 years old) ist pretty much 50/50, you either love him or hate him.

I just don't understand him, and I "get" loads of different humours, I just think he's annoying. Off topic but my fave comedian/stand up guy is Lee Evans. Corden has an annoying presence, but maybe it's just me.

It doesn't really matter how much they rate, reality tv mainly takes over this thread when it is on, the soaps have their own ratings thread, maybe reality Tv should as it takes up a lot of the time here?

We don't need separate ratings threads for everything. If something is dominating the discussion it's because people want to talk about it. If others want to talk about something else, there is nothing stopping them.

I agree with all of that. Thought it was ok to begin with but lost interest and havent bothered watching since England went out. ITV may aswell have extended their post match coverage until 10pm and could have had Corden's show as an ITV4 exclusive.

I remember the tagline: "James Corden's World Cup Live: the show that will define the summer". Yeh right!

Yet again another accusation about someone obsessing over a rating of a show. To be fair to Salv* at least he's focusing on the actual RATING of Big Brother. The thread often drifts off topic (of which I am guilty off ) away from ratings, so I think everyone should just accept when people want to talk about the ratings of specific shows. Especially one where the future is, at best, uncertain.

Surprised we still haven't got Friday's ratings. As for Saturday - I actually didn't mind 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow, but then I think I quite liked the quiz element which helped; I wasn't just watching for the contestants to get wet. I think it'll stabilise around 4.5m around the rest of the run - previous shows have shown that the thread isn't exactly in tune with the viewing public. Especially considering the opposition that 101 Ways is going to get over the next few weeks.

The football did ok but not brilliantly, and it''ll be interesting to see what the match does tonight considering what a dull game it was. Someone mentioned earlier about a non-eventful game helping ITV as people wouldn't bother switching over in the ads. I don't think they should be defeated so comprehensively as they were in 2006, but we shall see.

Big Brother () is likely to be hurt badly with the extra time being played right over first part of the Highlights package, but as the full programme finished at 10.35pm on both BBC1 and ITV1 I can see +1 gaining a few viewers.

To be fair it defined the World Cup - started reasonably but ended as a farce.

If Corden could've reigned in his stupidity a bit it wouldn'thave been a bad show. The premise was good and there was some good topics when they managed to get football based guests and used the wallchart properly, but they were few and far between.

There were rumours that ITV would try and get The Bill out of the way before September, so it does just about add up right. I do stress they're rumours.

do we know where the "Respect" title is from? if that is true, then this could well be right

On the website it says that the final episode would be aired in 'August or September' but that's all I can find.

Im sure everything up to "Who Dares Wins" is right, and "Respect" is probaly correct, I think the qustion is, how many episodes between them.

Johnathan Young, executive producer of The Bill said they've called the final two episodes 'Respect' as hopefully the final episodes will do the whole show justice and 'respect' the show's heritage. I see the next episode is being shown this Tuesday at 9pm. I expect around 2.5 - 3m for it again, as it seems to have stabilised around that figure now.

Interesting drama battle tomorrow though. The Silence v Identity. It won't be surprising to see Identity fall from last week's figure, but I hope it can still achieve 4.5m.

I think The Silence will build up momentum across the week, possibly damaging The Bill even further on Tuesday, though I can't see it falling further than 2.5m! I predict The Silence to debut tonight with around 5m viewers.

Afaik its just a new take on the old format , all 3 shows are from the same production company.

it sounds more like Talking Telephones than Winning Lines to me, typical of ITV to find a show to feature acts from BGT or X-Factor.
