Wouldn't worry yourself looking for excuses - the simple reason My Family is down is because it's stuck around for more series than even it's fans wanted.”
It seems that the BBC seem to keep it going as it is a rare thing called a peak time sitcom- remember these, ITV on Mondays at 8pm, BBC1 on Thursday nights? However, it might be in peak time but certainly isn't getting a peak audience and is well past its best.

Magic Numbers should do alright, its a classic concept, Stephen is a competent host and Holly Willoughby & JLS are guests. Odd One In was appalling, I switched off by 7.20pm.

So by watching 5 minutes of it you know it's awful.
It wasn't that bad, and it was better than 101 Ways To leave A Gameshow. It wasn't great though so I can't see it doing that well.

I saw the first two rounds (theres a positive, it moved fast) based around guessing who had a false beard and who was the dance partner of some roller blader. Assuming the format carried on all the way through, I think its safe to assume its a crap show with innane "odd ones in".
They do it as a one off feature on Celebrity Juice/Buzzcocks every now and again, they just took that and extended it to 45 minutes.
Really can't figure out if this or Tonight's the Night will win this slot. Both are utterly dreadful but the public is already aware of how appaling TTN is so people may tune in to MN in the hope that it might be better.
Either way it's a truly ghastly choice from both the most watched channels on British television. Why was it this week that none of my friends invited me out?
I watched 101 ways earlier as I didn't see it last week (well not all of it), It was really slow.
Magic Numbers is much better than 101 Ways, but it's not exactly great, is it? And this is coming from a XF fan, they are blatantly forcing X factor down our throats.
I don't think there's anything wrong with Magic Numbers. How on earth can you have a "first rate" show of this kind which is basically about getting 6 numbers randomly throughout the show through various tasks/performances. It's okay for what it is. Production values don't have to be sky high like some of the big entertainment shows - it's just a cheap, summer show and it's better than some of the utter dross we've seen in past summers (Who Dares Sings anyone?).
I reckon it'll get between 3-4m and rate similar to Tonight's The Night, which will have the better lead-in than Magic Numbers.

My predictions:
Tonights The Night- 3.7m
Magic Numbers- 4.4m (i think having XF presenters and XF/BGTrelated acts in the show will help it)
Incredible really. ITV have managed to mix together Talking Telephone Numbers, Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor, Golden Balls and the original Dutch version of Deal or No Deal. And it was awful.
