LOVE THEM, they are from the 80's but the lead singer (Natalie Merchant) left in the 90's (i think).

Anyway, anyone know of them, if not take a listen.

I also remember the name from Sabrina the Teenage Witch! Sabrina made them magically appear and perform at her Halloween party. Ahh, TV memories...

Yeah, I remember them too, but not from Sabrina. They were pretty good in an indie-folky sort of way.

Yes, they were great. Natalie Merchant's new album is spectacular. Love Tigerlily too.

I was going to say that too

They were at Sabrina's Halloween party and Valerie was dressed as a duck

I have to say I'm a fan of the group, but I found that after In My Tribe, the music started to dwell too much on melancholy.

But then they bounced back with 'Love Among The Ruins' and the album is fantastic. Once Natalie left the group, a lot of fans thought they were over, but that album revived their original fresh sound and Mary Ramsey's vocals were just as vibrant as Natalie's.

The Earth Pressed Flat is the other post-Natalie album that's well worth seeking out.

Been a fan for over 20 years. I was lucky to see them in the UK about 20 years ago. And saw Natalie Merchant last month in Manchester. Her new album; Leave Your Sleep, is superb and I think her voice is better than its ever been.
