Mine was pretty uneventful. I had one reserved at Apple, but on the day (bearing in mind I was at work), I'd looked at the Tesco price plans which revealed they were offering much better deals that any of the major operators; I decided to venture to a massive Tesco in the town on my lunch hour. Lucky for me, they'd had 20 or so 16gigs in and I had got the last one. About 5 people called up whilst I was there too. They also had a list of people wanting the 32gig version.

So all in all, the process was hassle free!

I had a 32 gig one reserved at the Appple Store at Meadowhall in Sheffield.

Got there at 11.45. I had to queue outside the store for 3 and half hours until I got inside. Had to wait 15mins inside the store until I got served.

15mins later I was out of there with my new shiny iPhone.

Apple were fab, providing, water, coffee, teas, sweets. biscuits, cakes whilst we were in the queue.

The people who i felt sorry for were the people in the unreserved queue.

Some of them were there before me and, we were still in their queue after I had picked me iPhone up.

Yep, queued from around 7.45 in Belfast. I got there expecting there to be a handful of people but there was actually a good few hundred. I eventually got away at near 12pm with my iPhone having been provided water and starbucks by Apple. Theyre a nice bunch!

I queued on launch day at my local O2 shop from 8am to 9:30am and had no choice but to get a 32GB as they only had 3 of those left and no 16GB.

Only thing I was offered was water.

I'm sure you are grateful for that though. In Chester, I was 18th in the queue at the store on the highstreet and all 12 of the 32GB versions had gone by the time they had got round to the 15th person. I had to go to the store in the precinct and fortunately got hold of one there quite easily.

16GB is just not enough for me. I filled that 16GB on the iPhone 3G in the 15 months that I had it. With the new one offering HD video recording, 32GB is a must really. At least you're not one of those with the 16GB that could be kicking themselves in the near future.

I personally never filled by 8gb iPod Touch and havent filled my 16gb iPhone4. I dont plan on recording any epics anytime soon tbh, so it more than suits me.

Besides selling my Xperia X10 (no great loss), I had a phone reserved at an apple in Manchester but decided to queue at the o2 store in Preston instead to save the trip. Arrived at 06:45 with about 30 in front of me. Had I been 20 minutes later I would have had to go to Manchester

Left o2 store with my phone just after ten. No refreshments offered to the queue though I did keep saying the Starbucks up the road could have made a killing if they'd come down with a trolley

Sell my body. Tis a shame nobody wanted it

Seriously though, three and half hours approx from about 7am at my local O2 shop in Harrow. I got the last 32gb but they still had many 16gb by the time I left. O2 were giving out cups of water occasionally. Still there was good camaraderie in the queue. Chatting and laughing while we waited. Offering to take the O2 staff out for lunch to get pushed to the front of the queue and all that sort of thing....

Queued, like most people outside the O2 store in Plymouth, was 21 in the queue and was away with my shiny iPhone three hours later.

BUT

My broadband is broken - still waiting for O2 to send a new router - so can't set it up.

Five days - still in its shrink wrapped box.

I was worried as I had not reserved nor thought to get up early to queue so i went to the Vodaphone shop on the offchance round 9 30, there was no queue and i got my 16gb straight away, though i was told it was the last one, there was a huge queue though at the O2 store and now i have a lovely new iphone 4 and im very content with it.

I reserved a 32GB model at the Meadowhall, Sheffield store. I turned up at 5am in a queue of around 100 at the time. Thankfully they opened the store at 7am instead of the scheduled 8am. Around 6am they let people inside the place and split them into two queue's, 1 for reserved and another for unreserved. When they did that I was then 12th in queue, I was the first group of people inside the store when it opened. I was buying sim free so I was quickly served and 2nd person walking out of the store with a shiny new iPhone 4.

Apple staff were great. Handing out coffee, muffins etc.

I walked passed the O2, Vodafone and Orange stores which are very close to the Apple store, each had around 10 - 15 outside each store waiting to try their luck on the 8am opening. I bet they were cursing me with my Apple bag :P

Spent 1.5 hours on 15th June trying to place an order for a 32gb. Finally got order placed at 10:30am.

iphone 4 arrived at my place of work at 9am on release day. I had taken my laptop with in case of an early delivery so was able to get it all set up and synced by midday.

Very pleased with the way I did things as I was free to get on with my day and not spend hours in a queue

I reserved a 16GB model on the 15th, for collection at my local Apple Store.

I turned up on launch day at about 7:45am (only 15 mins before opening), to find there were already two large queues (1 reserved, 1 hopeful walk-ins). I joined the reservations queue, and after about 2 hours I was served & received my phone.

As with other people here, Apple provided coffee, tea, water, cookies, muffins, etc. while we were queuing (they had people from Starbucks doing it all).
