You proved my point with the Nokia N95 link.
You're correct *that's* what "smartphones" were back then. Look at it. Quote:
Look at smartphones now. That was my point. It was well made in the above post - for fairness I posted the latest Nokia handset to be announced. . a fully touchscreen phone that looks very nice. Aye, some people seem to automatically believe that Apple have innovated with the tech in the iPhone - they absolutely, definitely haven't, at least until the iPhone 4. Everything that you've touted as an innovation was there on products well before. You haven't actually managed to come out with anything convincing, just recycled promotional/evangalical sub-Steve Jobs type rhetoric.I am satisfied that my last post put end to anyone who thought the Apple iPhone didn't change the phone market for the better. The iPhone has made changes in the mobile market, but your turning it into something of biblical proportions. I don't know what people are trying to pretend it didn't?? You don't have to pretend the iPhone had little influence - it played a massive part in the mobile phone market of today. Seriously - we should be thankful someone took a massive gamble and got it right. Some people. The iPhone has massively changed the way the manufacturers can deal with the operators, the app store integration is pretty cool (I was harping on for years before the App Store, saying that Nokia needed to get their own offering sorted out). Apple are total genius at marketing - on that there is absolutely no doubt. At least you never mentioned coverflow .... |

Check out phones on that site. . .pre-iPhone. . . post-iPhone.
Apple changed the market. It's influence is just undeniable I'm afraid. Edit: Check out the Palm's as well going back to 2003 - a 2006 model even had 3G. |

Yea, the posts on here make me laugh. 'I queued for 7 hours and apple gave me a starbucks for my £499 iPhone'. Really generous!
![]() Honestly, why do you lot get so worked up and annoyed over people who spend hours queueing for something that you dont like? I cant stand Westlife but I wouldnt berate someone for standing in a queue waiting for their gig to start. I also hate going to sales but I understand why people stand outside Next from 5am for their boxing day sales. Get outside and get a grip - its just a phone and if people want to spend their money on it, so be it. Stick to what you like...clearly that aint an iPhone

The N95 was an awesome phone. I still miss mine even as an owner of an iPhone.
