The HDR sports and corrects a schedule change if you have auto padding but not if its set to manual.

Ive lost the ends of programs both ways but auto seems to be the best now as I havent lost anything for over 6 months.

Like failure to record, this often seems to affect series.

It seems C4 cannot get it right on 'Grand designs' (which seems to record as if it were on a manual timer and always starts 1-2 mins late so you miss the end).

Certainly for the last year or so the only programmes the box has failed to record (for me) are episodes of Lewis and Midsomer Murders.

Take away those two series and it would have been nigh on faultless for many months. (A couple of spontaneous reboots on successive days at the start of the year IIRC).

I also have noticed an increase with failed recordings, Holby city, Coronation street and Taggart all failed. This is beginning to annoy the Wife

Corrie wasn't in the Radio Times for last night but it was on the TV planner. It was all set to record but missed. I haven't a clue where I am with Corrie at the moment what with the sodding World Cup and now the Freesat+ failing. Winge, winge ...

FWIW, Corrie failed here also. Emmerdale recorded fine. Very frustrated, thank goodness for repeats on ITV2

We've had loads of failed recordings in the last few days. Always series linked recordings of Corrie, Lewis, Tagart etc on ITV HD 119.

Giving up on recording ITV HD for now, the grief is getting too great!

I blame the football - it was fine before all the matches getting in the way....

As I've noted earlier in the thread - change to manual padding and your recordings will not be missed.

Okay so they won't change if the schedule changes but such changes are really rare. The worst that's likely to happen is that you might occasionally miss the closing credits - and even that doesn't happen often to me and I only have one minute before/after.

Me Neither.

Just didn't record anything. - not even a broken recording. Luckily it was set to record it in ITV2 later.

Does the padding change prevent failed recordings marked by a 'broken' film symbol and length of '0' minutes?. Thats normally the problem I have with ITV HD.

Changing the passing prevents missed recordings that are due to the flags not being sent, however dont do this for any sport or anything that follows sport because it wont update any time changes.

Failed to record the WC game this afternoon, luckily I realised 10 mins before the game started.

ITV seriously need to keep their data up to date because it seems like all the missed recordings mentioned here are ITV or ITVHD.

Does anyone know if this is the same on freeview?

I have e-mailed ITV with details and they have passed details to the technical support people.

I have been reporting my issues with ITV1HD recording issues to ITV Customer Services.

Initially they replied telling me that they couldnt find any fault their end and that I should just delete and reinitiate the series links.

However as I have gone on they seem to be taking more notice.

I am hoping people are also emailing them to add weight.....they are asking me to keep a journal of issues to report to them.

Well you can add that WC ET games get cut off as the end of program flag isnt updated.

Its happened with every game so far on ITV. Strangely the EPG has updated ok. Its definitely their fault. Every other channel is ok for me.

Yet another failed Midsomer Murders today.

ITV really are little more than a joke, now.

Thanks for the link.

I have emailed them, ending with the line: "Why is it only ITV that cannot get this data correctly associated with their programmes? BBC, C4 and C5 channels always work immaculately so it cannot be that difficult to do properly."

If everyone who has problems does the same they may get off their backsides and actually do something.

Janet 'Furious' sums it up inadequately..
Last night on 119..
Both Emmerdale and then Coronation Street FAILED to record..Unknown reason.
This can hardly be simplistic incompetence after ITV are aware of the issue..

Mine are still piling up on the HDD. Disabling auto padding is clearly a fix for this.
