What if he has padding set rather than AR?
Good question, never tried it . I feel an experiment coming on. Do you mean auto padding from the recording menu or a manual edit to a scheduled recording ?

Auto padding from the recording menu.

I've changed my series link to ITV1 SD and Corrie started recording as expected this evening. Anyone any idea how the HD channel did?!

I did a factory reset today and switched back over to ITV1HD London (didnt realise that was the only region with DD sound).

Re-set up all of my SLs - both Emmerdale and Corrie both recorded ok on ITV1HD.....fingers crossed.

ITV London 103 failed ~ didn't even start to record. No broken icon. The recording was created in schedual by Wednesdays episode. So is something going wrong with the series link data? Is it me or did this problems only start when ITV HD came along?

My HDR only shows the clock starting two minutes before the recording is due. For the first minute it only shows the clock, then the record icon appears. I assume that's one minute to allow it to boot then the one minute padding. I've now set it to power up at 1530 for half an hour. I'm hoping it might use the time to update any pending recordings.

Tbh the more I think about it the less likely it seems. If you have accurate record there's just less need to correct timers. Additionally a box that supports manual recordings probably doesn't store a reference to the EPG in its timers. You might as well always store a start/stop. That doesn't preclude fixing timers but it does make it more complicated.

The factory reset seems to have helped here.

Depends when you recreated the series link. I did not do a reset; I just set up the series link 'again' form the 8:30 episode and it worked fine.

Time will tell.

I'm getting fed up of the Huimax HDR missing Midsomer Murders. Should I set the series link up again? (all this has begun since the HD channel began.)

I've noticed that all the afternoon episodes fail and most of the evening ones succeed. (At least for me).

Since there are only a few I want to catch I've decided to cancel the series link and do it the old fashioned way of checking Digiguide and setting any particular episodes I want to see and turning them into fixed time recordings.

Both episodes of Corrie failed again tonight. I expected it to have righted itself after the World Cup finished but no such luck.
I had another reply from ITV today:-
Thank you for your further enquiry and information regarding programme recording.

Our technical team has not been able to locate a fault but they are aware of the problem you have reported. Your postcode helps them to identify your region and will help with their investigation.

ITV1 HD is a new service and not all regions are available to Freesat viewers. We would advise that you tune to ITV1 Wales on channel 103 when specific programmes for Wales are scheduled.

Once again, thank you for taking the trouble to contact ITV.

Patronising or what?

It's a different reply from the one I got.

Just as useless, but different.

I thought it might be an idea to cancel the series link for Coronation Street and then re-set it now that the World Cup has finished. However, when I tried to cancel, instead of reading "cancel the whole series?" a message on the lines of "record the whole series?" came up.

So, it was obvious that the recording instruction hadn't "taken".

I did the series link in the usual way and hoped for the best. Voila! Corrie recorded successfully both times last night.

So - anyone still having trouble recording Corrie could try re-setting the series link.

Had you actually checked the schedule to see if it was in there?

II know it's possible to just record something when you intended to series record it.

Yes, I checked and it was large as life on the schedule and as a series link. I've had the system for a couple of years now and, being an avid Corrie fan, have had it on series link with no problems until the last few weeks.

Anyway, I cancelled the series link last night (which as I say didn't seem to have taken) and re-set it. I'm hoping it will be OK now. I haven't gone in for the all more technical stuff on here because it wasn't necessary. Corrie is repeated a few times so I actually haven't missed any episodes.

Well my factory reset and starting from scratch hasnt helped.

Both episodes of Corrie failed on the 12th - grr (and I noticed too late to set up on ITV2).

Emmerdale seems to be behaving itself at the mo.

In my opinion it is not so much because of the HD channel but because of some insignificant little event that happened in South Africa recently which messed around with all the schedules.
The poor under-paid (probably off-shore) workers who maintain the guide just couldn't get their tiny brains around how things needed to be changed.

I think this is extremely doubtful.

Given that two of the biggest foul-ups have been Lewis, which finished well before the WC and Midsomer Murders which is not being consistently rescheduled.

More likely ITV don't have a robust system in place to set put the correct information in place in the first place and can't be bothered to assign anyone with enough nous to sort the problem out to do so.

Of course, if you're correct everything should have magically sorted itself out, er, two days ago.

OK, OK ! Just pointing out my own personal experience. For me the main programme affected recently (and which the wife complained most about) has been Corrie - and this does now seem to be getting better. It is also not just ITV, the BBC has messed up quite a few progs. My guess is that it will take a week or two to be back to the usual odd one or two failed series links
(Oh, and just want to point out that THIS thread was started during the WC.)

And the same for me - again - as stated - this has been happening for me since 31st May - the day ITV1 HD started.
