Her S/A/W stuff was awful, but everything since Princess has been good, I think.
X xould have been better though, I was disappointed with that. ON ANOTHER NOTE - Who else loves her song Chocolate? Flawless. ![]() And the 90s stuff was very forced in so many ways and it shouldnt have been and that was the downfall. Light Years saw a spark in Kylie it was like introducing a brand new artist. But the album was very cheesy in places but i do love some songs from it (the title track and Butterfly i think stand out the most) Fever is almost perfect ElectroPop i love it! And X was (after Blackout) the most anticipated Pop comeback of 2007. And agreed it should have been more "darker" and raw as thats what mainly people wanted. But i love a lot of the dance incorporated tunes on the X album even if a handful of them anyone could do. I still bang it out. Aphrodite sounded very "dated" but it was a step on from X even if some songs seem fillery. It reminds me of summer 2010 so thats great. and bar the lead single....what poor marketing for her! Cupid Boy, the title track and Cant Beat The Feeling are immense!

S/A/W i can leave bar a few slick hits (Better The Devil, Shocked and What Do I Have To Do) but complete cheesy crap!

Nu-Di-Ty, Speakerphone, Like A Drug were incredible songs and I'd have loved more songs in that direction, she should have been really brave and used one of them as a single/really wild video. She'd have probably got into bother if it was Nu-Di-Ty though - (on a side note I wish she did that song on the Aphrodite Tour, it was awesome acapella here I know we shouldn't really compare, but the Aphrodite era promotion wise was awful post-album release and after All the Lovers. It's the same with Britney and Femme Fatale, build up to the album the promo was all solid and the buzz for the lead singles was all well and good but afterwards it just stalled. Parlophone really buggered up the Aphrodite era, especially singles-wise. Cupid Boy, Looking For An Angel, Aphrodite and Can't Beat the Feeling would've been gems of singles and if Parlophone handled her promo properly she'd have done so much better chart wise. |

I wish she ahd more independance over them! release a few singles and videos prior to album release and the album will also have had longevity too....and three singles doesnt work either as it doesnt reflect the whole album either ![]() And i love X for Nu-Di-Ty, Speakerphone (a masterpiece? even Madonna wanted her to release it so it was THAT great!) The One, In Your Arms....i think they are classics....oh and Sensitized is pretty immense too as is Like A Drug! And Fever reminds me of summer 02! Mum played it a lot and i still do really for a camp, dance sesh! ![]()

Playing some Aphrodite right now!
Im in that "summery" feeling and frame of mind for some reason! True it may sound dated....but it makes me dance so much lol! Should have been marketed better i feel! :/ |

Agreed about Closer, its a great song!
Cannot wait also for the release of the Aphrodite Tour DVD I've not actually seen any of it but from the reviews I've heard it sounds epic! Many seem to say its her best tour ever, I thought it would take some doing to beat X2008 but this sounds like it has!

She's been working on a secret project in a recording studio for ages now and not said anything. I want to know what she's doing damn it! I suspect it's the acoustic album and she's been recording some B-Sides or re-recording old songs for it. Whatever she's doing, I'm getting hungry for more Kylie! The CD/DVD Aphrodite World Tour will be great, finally have a good quality version of the tour to blare on my iPod and remember one of the best concerts I've been too

Went to Aphrodite Tour and I can personally tell you Kylie's taken the biggest heels she's got in her wardrobe and stamped ALL OVER the X2008 tour. Aphrodite will be virtually impossible to beat, but it'll be great to see Kylie try.

I would love to see the more experimental side of Kylie, Impossible Princess was ridiculously overlooked imo, some of her best tracks are from that album I think, if she ever returned to a similar sound for a future album, I would be very pleased

I have seen clips of the tour and it looked beautiful
![]() Kylie is rediculously lush though isnt she....bar the "help" obviously but she is...that smile is iconic in itself ![]() Love the woman, i mean she is for an acquired taste but i love that i can play her if i dont want anything "heavy" and just dancey stuff really. Similar to my Britney love really, if i want just Dance stuff and Pop i turn to them ![]() I have a new love for Aphrodite i must say now! so glad i bought my lil white Kylie CD boxed set but i love how light the album is and CUpid Boy should have made a release...something progressive about it i love!

I agree about Cupid Boy - could easily have been a strong single. To this day I still do NOT understand how stronger songs like that, Aphrodite, Looking For An Angel and Can't Beat the Feeling did not get chosen as singles over Better Than Today.
Love the darker hair, really suits her and a belated congrats for the honorary degree indeed. |

The track Aphrodite is criminally overlooked I think! I did love Better Than Today at first but I think it was overplayed a bit too much
Pity because it was originally one of my highlights!

I found her video and performances of Better Than Today shockingly poor! and undewhelming!
Aphrodite should have been a release personally....but like Speakerphone it was never meant to be

Personally, I'd love to see her do some kind of experimental sound for her next album, Impossible Princess is one of her best albums I think!

I think with Madonna mixing it up for 2012....will be MASSIVE! And the likes of Britney, RIhanna mixing up their sounds with Dubstep kinda Electro sounds too for mainstream "current pop" Kylie can really take on board these elements and give it her own style.
Like when Ray Of Light was out and Daft Punk etc. Kylie really endorsed in those kinda lighter electro sounds for ehr Fever album. So i think if Kylie mixes it up for her own 12th studio album it will be fantastic! |

Actually now Josh you have given me an idea. I was thinking of producers for Kylie and now you've made me think about a Daft Punk and Kylie collab. That would be interesting, and rather experimental for Kylie I think
![]() Or there is Pet Shop Boys too (I adore PSB though so I am biased there ), and they are known for being rather experimental in terms of electronic music, so that could work well. Plus I think they're mutal fans, because PSB wrote Falling on her Kylie Minogue album which was very overlooked in my opinion. AndI'm still thinking though

I loved what Hurts did with Kylie for their album
![]() I would love for her to embrace that SYnthpop Dark style like Hurts did for their album maybe mix it up a bit with sounds from X and APhrodite and there we have it.I mean people say Dance Kylie is her at her best....but if it only gets her Platinum maybe we want ehr to mix it up a lot...get her out of the comfort zone but remain intriguing! |

I remember being getting the Fever album for my birthday when it came out, there were a good selection of tracks I liked: Fever, Love at First Sight, More More More and Come Into My World
