Hi,

Just shopping around last night and found this Sony on Amazon for £499, which I thought was brilliant.

Price checked this model elsewhere and got it (now dispatched) from Play.com for £429! the list price is £699.

HOWEVER; checked today, (less than 24 hours since purchase) and its back up to £579.99!

You gotta be quick out there!

For a full HD Sony Bravia that is a brilliant price - the reviews seem to be excellent, but I cant work out if its the bravia 2 or 3 engine - different sites seem to give different info on this - does anyone have any experience re: the actual visual difference between the 2 and 3?

Curry's site on the 401 series (not the 403) says:

"Available in the following screen sizes 32”, 37”, 40”
The EX401 series delivers the essential high definition viewing experience. With 1080p picture resolution and BRAVIA Engine 3 technology, the EX401 gives you incredible picture quality and a USB connection for viewing high definition photos, videos and music on your TV screen"

I think Sony's site says the Bravia Engine 2 is used

401 has Bravia Engine 2
403 has Bravia Engine 3 plus Freeview HD

The Amazon deal included a 3 year warranty so still is a pretty good deal.

I bought it from Comet just last week for £449 when I traded in an old set (20" Portable Goodmans)
It has since gone up £100 But it is certainly one to watch when it drops again!
Brill value!

I agree, we got one of the first generation bravia lcd's, and that was more than 3 times the price (its still going strong too)!

The telly was £429, and got a nice glass (£98 worth) stand at half price. Got the lot for £479, with free delivery you just cant beat that. Incredible value. If its as good as the first one I'll be delighted
