hehe so today i'm watching the second live show and right at the beginning all dorothy's are shown speaking about the competition. They all say the competition has really started now, i've got to give it all i've got, i want those ruby slippers etc. Danielle squeaks out "I can't wait!" Made me smile

I loved that bit too. It great when it's the unassuming ones that win

haha it rly is! In that show she's the first person in the whole series to be told she's got a great career ahead of her whether she's dorothy or not and she's just standing there with her mouth hanging open as if to say are you sure you're talking about me? haha

Danielle is so modest, it's like she doesn't believe how good she is! But that's what makes her so lovely When one week Emilie said that Danielle wasn't Dorothy, I was just like WHAATT? But then she went and won so she proved everyone wrong!

Is it just me but I felt really sorry for Danielle on her week 2 VT when she was talking about being a wall-flower, and they showed her quietly reading a book and everyone around her was chatting and stuff. I didn't feel sorry for her in a pity kind of way, I was just urging her to come out of her shell! But then when she does a performance..BAM...she's a totally different person!

YES YES YES YES!!!! I was like that would so be me! At school I sometimes just plonk myself down outside a classroom and start reading a book whilst others are all chatting around me. I am bubbly though within my group. Just when I'm not with my friends I'm like that! I think it's a sign of intelligence though Grabbing spare moments to read (Y)

That's exactly like me. I am so bubbly when I'm with my friends, like today I was with them and I just go and put music on and dance like an idiot and I can say stupid things and it's fine But then when I'm around people I don't really know, I go silent which is not like me haha!
Because I'm usually the one that's known as the person that will say what everybody's thinking but no one else has got the nerve to say it Which doesn't always work in my favour...
Anyway, I think I would be like Danielle, it was only week 2 and she didn't know the other girls that well, I would rather go and sit with a book as well

lol yeee i don't mind going crazy and making a fool of myself with my friends but i'm very shy until i get to know someone well. Then I come out of my shell and I'm fine. I suspect that Danielle is the same! That's why as we got more into the programme the girls seemed to warm to her. I think it was also tough that the one she had grown closest to left in Week 3 before the competition had really got started. Then she had to go through trying to get close to someone else which I'm sure is not easy when you're a quiet person. Books are good things to hide behind tbh!

Haha same, the amount of stupid things I've done infront of my friends...well they should have disowned me by now!
I sound like I'm constantly feeling sorry for Danielle lol, but I felt a bit sorry for her when the girls were asked who they would miss the most and Danielle said Dani because she was her best friend in the house, and so I was like 'Oh, Dani will return the favour'. Then Dani said she would miss someone else and I was a bit like 'What about Danielle'? But you're right, it was probably hard for her to see Dani go, but I think they all grew close to one another through the weeks.

O yee I felt really bad for her too! But they did edit stuff and I bet you the girls may have said more. It looked like no one liked Danielle too much but she wasn't a bad judge of character and I think if she liked someone they liked her too. It just wasn't shown cos we didn't see enough of their lives. There were just little things during the show that you had to pick up on. I don't think anyone said Danielle that week I remember thinking o dear does that mean they will all want her to lose the sing off but those girls weren't like that! They were upset for anyone in the sing off

Actually it's the second longest. I just looked at the other boards, and Lee's thread on the ADWD board is on Part 17! We've still got a ways to go to catch up with that one.

As for Danielle's reactions to the judges' praise, I've always loved how she reacted when ALW gushed about her in week 2 ("You're really fantastic!" etc.) She did this kind of nervous giggle and actually looked kind of uncomfortable, like she couldn't believe he was talking about her and didn't quite know how to react. She really doesn't seem to realize how talented she is.

I also relate to the "not shy around friends, but takes a while to warm up to new people" mentality, because that is exactly me, as well. I can be downright silly with my close friends, but I tend to clam up if I'm surrounded by new people.

I totally remember the week she did Mambo, it reminds me of the footage from the Could it Be Magic week, when she talks about just 'coming out of her shell and just being lik bam' Shes soo awesome!

I agree, I loved Danielles reactions to the praise she receives. She is genuinely shocked, the week she did 'Cry Me a River' was a prime example! She looked so happy/shocked at the amazing comments she got, and deserved

I like to read if its a good book haha
