tbh I finally understood actually filling out online applications I wasn't really trying ... because there are sooooooo many places that don't advertise online... I feel like an idiot now to be honest I should have gone out with my CV's weeks ago... but to be honest I feel I have grown a lot more these past couple of weeks and becoming less and less shy.. so that helps too ... I did a bit of growing up... I hope you find a job soon too... are you a student as well?

I've been told so many times to actually go out to places and phone but i just feel too shy to do it, the thought of walking into somewhere and asking if they have any job vacancies makes me want to run away and hide under my duvet haha!
But this week i'm making myself go out and just do it before i think too much about it lol, i need to do a bit of growing up, i'm nearly 19 and need to find my confidence if i have any chance of getting a job lol.
Um, i've just finished my A levels but decided against uni, so i'm now in the situation of trying to find a job. Unfortunately the kind of work i want to go into is limited around here so i kinda just need a job to keep me going until i find something suitable and want i want to do lol. In my head it all makes sense.. everything makes sense there until i talk haha .

Ooohhh your a year younger then me!... And yes the thought of going out and asking was really daunting... so I phoned everywhere! Just say

"Hey would it be possible to speak to your manager please" Hold for manager or they will ask you why
"I was just wondering if your store has any vacancies for part time jobs at the moment"
and then they say yes or no... if they say yes ask if there is an instore application form.. if they say no NEXT PERSON! Just do that... then come up with a list of all the places that said they are recruiting and take your cv and cover letter to them job done!

ETA: when you take your cv say would it be possible to speak to the manager... then be all polite and smiley! stay smiling (even if you look like a complete idiot smiling into space smile!) and then tell the manager you called earlier regarding part time vacancies and you have bought your cv, cover letter and complete application form for consideration!

We will need to go to around 150 stores to get 1 job! but it will be worth it so don't give up and I won't either!

Blimey, I never went through this ordeal, I was lucky a relative worked were I wanted to go which helped!

I phone and then get like a mini mind block.. i swear i'm the worst person for mind block lol, even for the easiest of things lol, but once i find some more confidence, that should sort out the mind block, i know it's linked with the fear and everything lol.

I was in the same situation with my current weekend job, the manager is a family friend who we've known since before i was born so i got a job within days and i've been there nearly 3 years now. So haven't had to really go looking for a job until now, so it's all new and scary at the moment lol.

I love Cyprus too I'm so excited cos we're returning to the hotel we went to when I was 10! I'm the other way round Lauren. I've been to paphos twice and protarus once. I'm going to Paphos again.

Do not look to the ground! oh and posture (something I need to work on!)

I have a thing about phones lol, unless i know who i'm talking to, like friends, i hate it. I will even avoid picking up our house phone when it rings by calling someone else in the house to answer it, it's a weird phobia that i need to get over soon, so with a bit of luck, i'll beat a few fears over the next however long until i find a job lol.

Um, i got a top grade C in GCSE lol, so not the best at maths not the worst i guess..
