Any one got one of these phones, what do you think? I really need some advice on which one to buy.

Is T-Mobile a good provider? What's their coverage like? I have heard they have terrible customer service, is it just them or are all providers as bad as each other.

I could wait for a rumoured new phone from the Chinese manufacturer, but I am selling my old phone to someone and I don't want to be without one.

My only stipulation is a PAYG Android OS budget phone. I haven't found any competitors so far.

T-Mobile have six months free internet, as part of the deal for both phones. After that for £20 I can get another six months, which is a lot better than £5 a month or £1 a day.

They also offer free texts for life with a monthly £10 topup. I am new to phone deals so theses are probably rubbish, although they did sound good to me. I only make occasional calls.

If any one knows any other good or bad points about either phone or has a different opinion, I would be very grateful to hear your views.

Android 1.5 - T-Mobile is ignoring demands from customers on their own forums for an Android upgrade. They don't even respond.

I had a play about with the Pulse for a few days and really liked it.

Yes, it is Android 1.5 but is upgradable to 2.1 via T-Mobile Hungary. I wouldn't say it was quite chunky, just right I would say. Music player is good as is the external speaker.

The only thing that let it down for me was the 2.5mm jack and the fact it is hidden under a plastic flap on the top (along with the USB socket). I would recommend it though.

I saw that offer, but they upped it to £149.99 the next day, so it may have been an error or perhaps a special promotion.

I have heard people are having problems with the Hungarian version. Especially in sat nav I think.

They do seem to have corrected quite a few criticisms in the pulse when they released the mini. 3.5 audio jack, Android 2.1, LED flash.

Although I dislike the idea of a stylus, a few people have said that they just download a better keyboard and don't use the standard Android one.

The biggest mystery about the mini, is with the same hardware more or less as the HTC Legand, (not screen of course), why is this phone so slow. Maybe Android 2.2 might fix it. It allows use of the SD Card for storage so makes the OS lighter, less resource hungry and hopefully faster and more efficient.

I think the mini is more likely to get Android 2.2 than the original Pulse, simply because manufacturers pay more attention to their newer products. The people on the t-mobile forum are simply being ignored by the company.
