Dame Shirley Bassey is not perhaps an obvious Big Brother fan, but the singer nevertheless got word to the makers of the programme how "touched" she was by the housemate Ben Duncan's frequent references to her on the programme before his eviction a week ago.
"She felt it was helping to acquaint her with a whole new audience," says Duncan, 30. He has met the real Dame Shirley, but today he is seen having to make do with a lookalike on Big Brother's Little Brother on Channel 4 when he went to Wales to try to track the great woman down. "She was pretty impressive, but after you have met the real thing, it isn't quite the same," sighs Duncan.
