I've missed all of BB5 thus far, having been away for the launch. I've heard some mixed reviews as to whether it's worth tuning in or not. I generally find that the tastes of the majority of DSBB forum members match mine when it comes to what makes interesting viewing. That being the case, would any of you care to advise whether BB5 is shaping up to be good viewing?

..It's been very different, the housemate's are an odd buch and it's worth checking out a few times anyway see what you make of it.

Compared to other years it's a great bunch, i think the format is a little tiresome now though.

Definitely better than last year, but I wonder if it might have peaked too early...

The best series yet, based on the first week alone...

Welcome back Pyrrhic. I was wondering why you weren't posting!

Actually it crossed my mind as to whether or not you had ended up in the house this year

Back on topic. It's a weird one this year. None of the housemates are particularly likeable which has cut down on the amount of viewing time devoted to it in our house.

However, there's certainly quite a lot of drama.

I remember you said you had auditioned before - you met Federico, didn't you? There's quite a few names from last year that are sadly missing on here but I didn't think you'd given up on the programme or the forum so it just wandered through my head that you might have made it into the house

I don't think it is really worth watching and for what it is worth i think it is the second worst or worst one so far.

Like any BB you really can't tell in the first week.

It's started to move up a gear yesterday with a huge ding-dong instigated by Kitten. Made more promising for the fact it was not booze related.

The masks are starting to slip and could either be great or car crash tv.

I'm dissapointed and frustrated by the lack of choice re live feeds this year . I'm always convinced I'm missing something better elsewhere !

Plenty of action though , so far. I can't say I've taken to anyone in particular, yet . Early days though.

I have mentioned it before but the main thing is the female housemates, i just cannot really warm to any of them really.
The porn star i don't know why she felt the need to tell everybody she was into porn straight of, to me that is a little tacky and put me of her a bit.

Kitten is OTT and her rebellion i find dumb.

Vanessa comes across a bit cold to me.

Shell and Emma seem ok but not enough to make me wanna watch it.

Previous years the female characters have been much better, Anna, Kate, Jade, Tania, Anouska, Adele, Alison etc but this year i think don't like it.
Hey, i have watched it twice so far for 30mins and couldn't be bothered with it, maybe that will change.

The guys are ok in the main it is just the ladies.

It's showing great potential RP. I missed the first few days myself but desperately trying to catch up.

It's definitely more 3 than 2. The housemates are, on the whole pretty disagreeable characters.

As you'll notice from a quick scan of the board, all the talk is about Kitten and deservedly so. She's an idiot but great television.

Dan is, to my mind the only instantly likeable Housemate. We've already had more drama than we had in the whole nine weeks last year but fear not, it looks like there'll be plenty more to come.

Quick rundown

Kitten. Rebel without a clue.
Dan. Charismatic, wise and witty.
Jason. Undecided. Entered the house in a thong. Possibly the object of Dan's affections.
Victor. Pillock.
Emma. Ditzy Northern girl. Possibly not as dumb as she would have us believe.
Vanessa. Barbie type. Says nothing of interest.
Stuart. Difficult to tell so far. Seems harmless enough.
Marco. Incredibly loud. Incredibly camp. Incredibly annoying.
Shell. Fairly innocuous. I haven't seen much of her so far except her backside which is by all accounts, very nice.
Michelle. Geordie slapper.
Ahmed. Self confessed homophobe though doesn't seem terribly homophobic. Doesn't seem to be enjoying himself very much either.
Nadia. Transexual but keeping it a secret. Plenty of 'will she won't she' entertainment potential.

My opinions of course and not those of the board.

Thanks for taking the time to bring me up to speed, guys. Sounds like it's worth a look - I'll look forward to eating my hat if BB5 turns out to be great TV. I was a bit skeptical that a good selection of HMs would result from the approach to auditions used this year.

I think for the most part, you pretty much have them down to a T , especially Victor

Erm.. I took that to mean that she likes watching porn, not that she appears in it!

Or did I miss something..?
