Hi

We have just bought a samsung HD1080 LCD 40" tv. it looks fantastic. I hooked it up to my V+ box with an HDMI Lead. Only a few channels are broadcast in HD and they do look good. However, some channels revert back to 4:3 and not widescreen. These are not broadcast in HD. Is there something I am doing wrong as it is annoying. But we can watch HD through the digital HD freeview built in to the tv so it doesnt matter too much. I was just wondering if i can fix it.

Also, there is an ethernet port in the back. What will this allow me to do? If I plug it in to my router, can I access the internet, and watch youtube etc, if so how do i do this?

Thanks

Check your Picture Settings menu, there are several aspect ratios in there, I have my Samsung set to 16:9 and auto-wide and everything looks fine.

I recall having this happen with the odd show when I first got my set, there are a lot of settings.
