It's been on C4/Film4 for definite.
It must've been ages ago, because I honestly don't recall it being screened on those channels. I really must keep taking those senility tablets the doctor gave me...

By the way, no one's mentioned LET'S TALK ABOUT THE RAIN, screened at 2.35:1 on BBC 4 on Sunday. And BLADE, which 'premiered' last night at the correct ratio, too.

Oceans 13 on ITV 2 the other night was in 16:9. It was on ITV 1 not long ago and was in 2.35:1 IIRC.

Oceans 12 has been in 2.35:1 on both ITV and ITV2, but '11' and '13' have only been in 16:9.

How the hell did that work out? Surely they had the rights to 12 before they got 13, or bought the rights for all of them at the same time, so they should all be in the same AR?

Blade was in the correct AR last time C5 aired it about a year ago.

God knows. It does indeed sound about as stupid as the average Big Brother contestant.

It was in a weird ratio when it was broadcast on UTV a few months ago. Not quite 1.85:1 and not quite 2.35:1. At least it's being shown properly now.

Along with LYMELIFE and WILBUR WANTS TO KILL HIMSELF on BBC 2, one after the other. But sadly, not PAYCHECK on BBC 1, which is the one I wanted to see at the original ratio...

BBC1 now showing Con Air in 2.35:1 for first time ever (not in HD, though). Still, it's a step up. It's a top action film.

Yes it is, if you have BBC One HD.

HD, you can tell as it has an HD tag before the [S] in the EPG, and "Also in HD" on the BBC One EPG.

Was going to mention that,a film I still haven't seen so recorded it,checked the beginning yesterday and saw it wasn't the original AR.

Goldeneye on ITV1 last night wasn't 2.35:1 btw.

None of their Bond films are, not even the two Daniel Craig films.

except for those that were made 1.85x1, NONE of the bond movies have ever been shown in their original 2.35x1 format on the ITV network

Odd one, this: FREE WILLY 2: THE ADVENTURE HOME played at 2.35:1 on ITV 2 yesterday, under the abbreviated title FREE WILLY 2. Nice to see it that way, but it's frustrating that the first film in the series wasn't given the same treatment the day before.

Sadly, THE LIVES OF OTHERS - another film I was really looking forward to seeing - was cropped to buggery on BBC 2. One for the DVD rental list, I think...

Don't suppose they played the director's cut did they?

It should be 1.85:1. When did they last have the rights?

And now it's on 5* but cropped to 16:9
