Can anyone recommenned a really good ice cream please ?
I have tried countless sorts, but my OH only likes the one from the ice cream van, when we go out for the day.
No ice cream van comes round our parts( too out of the way )

What makes have you tried? Are you looking for simple flavours like vanilla or more exotic flavour combinations?

You'll get more answers if you can be more specific.

Hi, I was just wondering what other peoples favorite ice cream was, I have tried supermarkets own brands along with walls, have seen yorkshire ice cream in the freezers, I would like to know if possible what that is like.
thanks very much.

I had Walls Vanilla and it was delish. Asda's own stuff didn't quite step up to the mark.

I like the Carte D'or but since the kids nick most of the ice cream and I don't get to eat much of it, I grudge paying the extreme costs.
Ben & Jerry's are far too overpriced also IMO

Mint choc chip and raspberry ripple are old favourites of mine

God I sound like im 50 or something don't I?

for an extravagant well made ice cream - Mackies

I like Green & Blacks' organic vanilla, it makes a lovely accompaniment to a nice chocolate sponge pudding. Yes it's expensive, and so I only get it on 'occasions', like having my mum round for dinner.

Try Mövenpick Ice cream. That is a pretty good brand. They do quite a good selection of flavours. I like the maple and walnut one myself.

Mackies is the best! Lidls have it usually for about £150 - £2 a tub so I don't think it's that extravagant (well that's my excuse).

The honeycomb one or even just the vanilla - Nom nom nom.

Asda's Loaded Cheeky Chimp is great - banoffee sauce, bits of chocolate and caramelised pecans.

Sainsbury's Strawberries&Cream one is really nice aswell.

We don't usually buy ice cream in the stores since there's a Cold Stone Creamery right down the street... but when we do, we stick to Blue Bell or Breyers.

Another vote for Mackies for a plain vanilla and Carte dor for flavoured (but don't think much of their new rum and raisin - too rummy for my tastes, if you can credit it! ). Think I might try that Cheeky chimp one next time, sounds lovely.

I LOVE strawberry ice cream that has the little strawberry bits in it! Vanilla ice cream is second on my list of favorite ice cream flavors, and mint choc chip is third on my list of favorite ice cream flavors!

By the way, I have never had this flavor of ice cream before, but has anybody here ever had blueberry flavor ice cream?
