Do I need a landline phone?
magnificent

...silly question but is it possible to not have a landline and still get broadband on my computer?

If yes, how can I get broadband since that's the most important thing I need. I'm sure I can get by on my mobile.

Thanks

I think, possibly without realising it, you answered your own question with the last part of your second sentence there.

Broadband via one of the cellular networks is perfectly possible and is widely used on laptops (although there's nothing to stop a dongle being used in a desktop computer's USB socket).

You can get broadband via Cable services (Virgin Media is the main UK operator which may or may not be available in your area).

Try this link to check if your postcode can recieve Cable Services - http://allyours.virginmedia.com/ (see to the right hand side of the page).

If you can receive cable services, you can purchase any of the three packages consisting of either 10, 20 or 50 meg by clinking on the following links respectively (without the need for a landline!...
