Hiya....bear with me please...tis not my ipod and i know very little about them...
My landlady is in hospital and asked for her ipod...she tried using it but then realised it needed charging....tried charging it at the hospital via the sockets there but to no avail...i suggested i bring it back and try and charge it via the pc....tried but again no luck....when i plug in the lead to the ipod it makes a little bleep but that's all...can't turn it on...nothing...anyone have any ideas at all?

thanks in advance

I had something similar & it needed resetting. You will find the instructions to reset it via google.

Hopefully then you should be OK

I was given an ipod by a friend who wanted me to load it up with music for him prior to his vacation.

Anyway, it was low on juice when he gave it to me, and even when I attached it to a USB port... it still showed no signs of coming back to life...even after an hour or two of just sitting there being connected with my PC power on.

It turned out that I had plugged it into a USB extension hub, and apparently, ipods like to be plugged directly into a static USB port....not an extended [on a wire] USB peripheral.

I have an older tower, and only have two USB ports in the back of it, which were committed to other devices via the USB extension/expansion cable I'd fitted..

Any-wayyyyy...

When I re-jigged all that, and plugged the ipod directly into one of my my PC's static USB ports it began to charge quite quickly, and after about an hour, I was able to start loading music onto it.

Don't know if this will help, but might be worth a try amigo !!
