Just not as good ?

Is it me, or does BB5 just not seem to be as good as 2 and 3 ?

I'm sure that even at the beginning of those, the channel 4 shows were much more entertaining than now.

I figured when I saw the housemates go in that this was C4's biggest gamble and that there were too many outrageous personalities going in there. They all seem to have nulled each other out.

I'm not a great fan at all, but Kitten is the only one providing any entertainment whatsoever.

Willing to give it more time - at least it's better than I'm a Celebrity and Scared!

Its too early to say? it will depend how they take being attacked by EVIL BB? Its going to maybe be about events and character rather than entertainment or natural winners.

On the other hand I don't see winners in there who people really care about like Helen, Brian, kate, Spencer or Alex and drama doesn't work if viewers don't care. They also have to back off allowing real characters to emerge - they can't let Kitten become as hated as Jade or Adele and we can't have much scheming any more after the experience of Adele in Bb3. Bb3 in those senses is unbeatable for competition, drama and characters whilst Brian is pretty unbeatable anyway.

The conflict of personalities mainly...

Although some people are just doing the whole "I fancy her/him thing..."

To be honest, I thought BB3 was absolute tosh. The only competition was to see who could get drunk the fastest, the only dramas were drunken rows and the crude lowest common denominator use of "the divide" to exacerbate tension and throw out any possibility of relationships developing authentically, and the characters were a thoroughly unappealing group of sub-Club 18-30 holidaymakers without a brain cell between them. The curmudgeonly Sandy was thrown in as a token nod to diversity but even he was a miserable, unlikeable old sod.

No good tasks, just more and more booze and more and more rows. It was so dull and monotonous. The sight of the HMs all dressed up for a 70's disco party (very cutting edge) or playing musical chairs was just wince-inducingly bad and laughably pathetic.

BB3 was really the beginning of the slow slippery downward slope for BB.
