Kitten...just another hypocrite?
balth_dire
04-06-2004
Irony is a tiresomely fashionable word these days, especially on chat forums. Though in regard to Kitten’s behaviour, its use is entirely justified. Put simply,
Kitten seems to harbour the ill-founded belief she is a worthy advocator of equality

“This world needs no leaders”

She claims repeatedly,

“We can all respect each other’s wants and needs, power should be vested in us all”

When considering her aggressive disposition at the time, the mere act of clambering wildly up onto the roof of the house could be argued to entirely nullify her assertion to live her life in accordance with the principal of equality. It was a haughty gesture and one which, subconsciously or otherwise, demonstrated an obvious craving for leadership and power.

Last night, her hypocrisy verged on flagrant parody.

(addressing the group)

“You’re all ignorant”

(Addressing Emma)

“You’ve come in here of the experience…I HAVE AN AGENDA”

(Addressing Shell, about the graffiti)

“Paint over it, I’m not bothered”

(Addressing Dan 20 seconds later…about the graffiti)

“Could you leave that alone please?”

(Confiding with Ahmed)

“They all know nothing”

They Kitten, who are “they” exactly…those with an opinion that differs from your own? (A point which Victor alluded to during one of his more rational moments.)

Put candidly,

Kitten=irony personified.

Just what I said the other day "I hate people who are intolerant of other's views, you don't agree with my views so you're ignorant and I'm not tolerating yours".

well said Ali...i'm beginning to get suspicious, surely nobody could be so oblivious to their own duplicity.

I think it's entirely possible balth-dire. You're forgetting something important here.

Kitten is an idiot.

Why do I use seven words when one would do???

You're right JonDoe...in the words of Edmund Blackadder:

"She's like a christmas cracker...one massively disappointing bang and the novelty soon wears off."

Please remember Kittens contiued disobedience and rule breaking, as a result a HM will be evicted 'Not her fault'

Then who's fault is it?

Anyone able to tell me.

I find her the most embarrassing and childish person in there. Whether her intentions are good or not, her manner is abhorent and is actually the type of behaviour which probably does more harm to the good causes she reckons she's helping than not.

And like all badly behaved brats she has the gall to turn around and say its not her fault. She doesn't have any level of maturity to take responsibility for her actions. Last night she was immediately defensive and concotting ideas 'BB had this planned all along...'

And when Emma confronted her what did she says 'Are you trying to oppress me?' Oh for gawds sake brat get over yourself! What a pathetic specimen

She is just plain awful. people say 'oh keep her in, she's interesting'. To some of us she isn't. I would suggest that anyone who has had to live with a family member like Kitten will find her almost impossible to watch or tolerate at any level. The odd thing is that her politics are irrelevant, her character and behaviour are just the same as any other silly little girl who has some huge chip on her shoulder. The so called agenda is just an excuse to force her idiocy on to others. She is a show-off, egocentric in the extreme and suffering a severe case of arrested development and 'lookatme-itis'. How do I know this? I have a close relative who is almost exactly the same, the only difference being that said CR is very right wing. The damage that has been caused to the family by her antics is dreadful.

Mavis!! Wondered if I'd be seeing you here this year

Spot-on analysis of Kitten there. However, I'm still trying to decide whether she's just a spoilt rich-kid or whether, under her brash and irritating exterior, she's actually just a scared child?

Unfortunately, I'm leaning more towards the spoilt lookatme-itis (fantastic word!) the more I get to see of her. Yes, she's causing a lot of conflicts in the house, but I'm finding her almost impossible to watch as her hypocritical rantings and jumping in on others' arguments give me a strong desire to go and kick something!

I laughed loudest when she started complaining that the HMs were ignorent because of "the state education system"
Thank goodness she was lucky enough to escape all that when her parents forked out £12k for her private schooling...

She's a grown woman whose girlfriend has introced a 'star' system where she gets rewarded for good behaviour and penalised for being naughty. She's a spoiled little girl who's neve rhad to take responsibility for her own actions. Her rebelliousness is just childish - it's not even kicking out against the rules - she's doing it for attention. She's not even charistmatic or aritculate or fun to watch, just plain boring

Get her out for god's sake.

She's amazing - she says she stands for equality and anti-oppression, yet as soon as someone has an opinion that doesn't exactly match her own she completely goes off on one at them and starts "rebelling" (translation: acting like an immature little brat again).

BB seriously needs to get her out before people get so sick of her that they stop watching.

Don't punish the other HMs for Kitten's actions.

KICK HER OUT!

A Space cadet. A walking, talking caricature. Thank God I'm only watching the C4 highlights shows!

I suppose that could be Stuart's verdict on Michelle, too.

Strictly, "lookatme-itis" means your lookatme has become inflamed. It should be "lookatme-osis", which means you are suffering from a surfeit of lookatme.

Rennie and Mavis b sausage sum up my feelings totally. Kitten is just awful. She's selfish, arrogant and I just can't warm to her pointless, self-defeating intransigence. She is the very personification of obtuse confrontational student union bar liberalism.

absolutely agree-shes a complete hypocrite

Wants to have her own opinion heard yet doesnt have time for others-shouts everyone down about it but wont take criticism

I dont like her but cant help thinking she should stay just for the drama-although its still not fair that someone else will be unfairly evicted because of her actions

In another thread, I diagnosed her as a sociopath: one who has no empathy for others' suffering.

In her quest for attention, getting kicked out would be martyrdom: the ultimate attention. So they said they'd kick out "any housemate" to appeal to her sense of social responsibility.

Which seems to miss one fact:

She HAS no sense of social responsibilty.

So what can we do about her? Deny her that attention. Escort her out the back.

Oh, and one other thing -

If you're gonna go on the roof, at least have the guts to keep going, like Sandy.

Now, THAT'S a good example of a reality TV rebel.

she picks a chooses which rules and laws she likes. An anarchist despises all rules, all laws and all systems of Government. She is a huge supporter of Gay Rights (which is fair enough) however, if she were a true anarchist then she wouldn;t be advocating any laws or rules to protect anything as she would not recognise those laws as they would be passed by a Government she does not recognise.

She is a hypocrit who can't formulate an arguement to save her life, she cannot debate, she justs stamps off in a childlike fashion.

As Dermot said tonight she is taking over the whole show - its fast becoming the Kitten Show as opposed to BB5. There are many interesting characters in there this year, none of whom are getting a look in.

She should leave tonight and then the really interesting things can start happeneing.

sadly the girl(?) Kitten, hails from my neck of the woods -there was a lovely write up in the local rag last weekend!. She has got to go. She was somewhat amusing at first but you can get too much of a good thing. She's like a two year old throwing temper tantrums when she can't have her own way. And of course its everyone one else fault. She some mega spoiled brat who needs a kick up the behind.

Her lookatme complex has certainly become inflamed! I think the -itis suffix works well there.

Quote:
“Kitten

Kitten’s behaviour is obvious at first glance: a rebel with any cause going. More accurately, of course, she is a rebel who doesn’t believe strongly enough in any cause to see through her ‘protests’.

She moaned to BB on the first night that she was unhappy with the lack of bed space, but you'll notice that she didn't have the bottle to go through with her 'rebel' act when she decided not to sleep in the diary room chair.

A forum member wrote this week: “If you follow her more closely you will realize she is actually pretty vulnerable and most of her big mouth is front. She is actually quite insecure.” I couldn't agree more. You struggle to understand why she thinks that people can't see straight through what she is doing.

We are left pitying the kind of person who tries to manipulate others by pretending to be a victim:

“If you want to remove me from the House, there’s not a lot I can do about it,” said Kitten to Big Brother. Except get thrown out, see your plan to be seen as the fall-girl and therefore worthy of sympathy and attention come to reality and have some kind of career in the media spotlight as a professional victim.

Now of course, her plan has failed and someone else will pay the price. It will give the other Housemates the push that they need to start making it clear that her behaviour is unacceptable.”

From Jon Tickle's Column

I say she stays.
