Change ringtone on iphone???

Hey guys

I recently got the iphone 4 and just wonderd if theres a way to change the ringtone, i have a song on there that i want to change it to.

You can't simply select a song as a ringtone. It needs to be an AAC file of 30 seconds or less, with the file extension .m4r instead of .m4a.

You can use iTunes to make your own songs into ringtones.

That's some good advice above - unfortunately it's not as easy to change your message tone.

For some strange reason, Apple think the iPhone will explode if we're allowed our own message tones

I couldn't get the option to convert to AAC when I tried to do it on mine and found using a download called iringer to be a very simple and quick way of making a ringtone. It does it all automatically for you and sticks it back into your itunes library under ringtones without the need to do any of the renaming in the other method.

In itunes, you just need to make sure you have ticked the box to show 'Ringtones' in your list of media and also select ringtones to sync up.

How do i get the ringtone tab up???

It won't show until you have some ringtones in your library AFAIK.

Once you've made an AAC file with the .m4r extension & added it to the library, you should see "Ringtones".
