Eastenders "explosive storylines" that have come to nothing.............

Whenever we open a tabloid or hear on this board about a new "sensational, explosive" storyline in Eastenders, a majority of the viewers get excited and find this is worthwhile viewing. However in EE, it turns out to be as explosive as opening a packet of crisps. Here are a few examples of this:

* Laura Beale's death. - It was seen there would be a murder mystery storyline where we would be wondering who kill Laura. Turns out she fell on a toy from Poundland.

*Who Shot Phil Part 2 - This was seen as Lisa finally doing the job on Phil by killing him. Den re-assured her not to do it and the gun fell on the floor.

*Zoe and Kelly's lesbian kiss - This was hyped as if it was some sort of lesbian romp between the two friends. Turned out to be a quick kiss while Zoe was in hospital injured.

I think the above examples show how desperate the show is to win viewers, by "conning" us into watching it. Is there any way we can get our money back

I think it actually shows that they have a very good PR department, who are very good at spinning a story.

Only problem is that they could end up being part of there downfall!

How many times will you hear a spin in the papers, for it to be a 5 second scene in two months time! you'll get fed up with it sooner or later, now I know it's very difficult, and we all like spoilers, but occasionaly it would be nice just to get a surprise.

Any how I've really got fed up with the show now, although It's annoying the Martin, Sonia storyline about medling familys seems very real, and a side to a soap wedding that we don't normally see. so well done on that account. I'm just glad it wraps up this week!

Or a very bad PR department, in that it hypes up stories which then leave the viewers feeling cheated and let down, and uses young actors in particular as cannon fodder for the tabloids. I also wonder if their PR dept is the source of all sorts of 'rumours' which turn out to be half-truths, so that in the end some of us don't believe any of it.

The Little Mo rape saga was supposed to be 'sensational', 'explosive', 'in a bid to boost ratings and win viewers' and all the usual crap we hear about when EE comes up with another dull storyline. But, it had the opposite effect. People hated it, quite similar to Toyah's rape in Corrie back in 2001.
EE are now trying to win us back with a stupid storyline that involves a fairground falling on top of everyone. Do they think we're that easily amused?

I'd been hoping the fairground storyline wasn't true as it sounds so resolutely cr*p. I should have known that must mean it IS true
