iPhone on O2 or Tesco?
Hi, So i've finally decided that i want an iPhone. i'm looking at the 3GS ones rather than the 4 ones. I've just noticed that Tesco are selling them and it seems to be at a better rate than O2:
TESCO: 16GB £35pm 750 mins Unlimited Texts Unlimited Wifi (BT Open-Reach) 1GB Allowence 12 Months O2: 16GB £35pm 300 mins Unlimited Texts Unlimited Wifi 500MB Allowence 18 Months I know the handset prices do differ somewhat though but can't remember. So guys, which do you think I should go for? What are Tesco Mobile like? And also, waht does the BT Openreach mean? Does it mean that i'll get charged extra if I use another Wifi thing? or is it the same as O2? |

Tesco Mobile actually uses the O2 network, so as Tesco is cheaper, I'd go with that instead of O2!
![]() http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/iphoneind...hly/3G_S/Black http://direct.tesco.com/p/inc/specia...ne/tariffs.asp OK, the phone costs a little more up-front with Tesco, but... You get more minutes You get more data You're only tied in for 12 months instead of 18 months The WiFi is BT Openzone, not BT Openreach. It means that you can use Openzone WiFi hotspots (found at various coffee shops, hotels, etc.) for free. With O2, you also get access to hotspots from The Cloud (well, I assume you still do) in addition to BT Openzone. |

I had this very same issue when deciding - and I went with Tesco. More mins, data allowance plus only tied in for 12 months. No contest really!
