Almost £800 for an Iphone 4 16GB
There's Iphones on ebay going for £700 - £800 16GB they cost £500 direct from Apple so why do people want to pay that much for one? They look like genuine bidders too.

This isn't uncommon on eBay, I often see things on there going for more than retail, ps3 games often go for more.

As the stores are out of stock and the apple website currently says 3 weeks shipping time..... people pay extra to get it now.

Some countries also don't sell iPhone 4 so a lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money to have the greatest mobile phone experience since all they have in their own country are Android phones or Nokia's.

![]() At the above - it's nothing about being a sheep. Gadget lovers often pay high prices for the next big thing. It's not exclusive to iPhone. It's an expensive hobby - but if they can afford to, then they can spend their money how they like to get their latest gadget. |

thanks for making me laugh my *** off...
£800 is a lot for a doorstop. I must admit I thought Apple had made their first decent phone and had caught up with the competition until the reception problems. |

It's he Arabs that'll pay that sort if money. And I've not seen an auction 16GB go through for more than £600. The 32's are still topping £700+. I'm patient enough to wait for my Apple order.

![]() ![]() Have you seen the outcry over on the Apple Discussions forum. I had a reservation but missed it due to the fact I wasn't prepared to queue for 4 hours (which my more patient friend did. Said the free Krispy Kremes and coffee helped !). He's having no problems and I've had a good play so I think I'll be ok. Although Apple offering your money back if you're not happy is a bonus.

Not a fan then?
![]() ![]() I don't get the hype. Yes, very nice screen but it's so overpriced for what it is really. It would be nothing without the app store, and I don't like the marketing of it. They bring out features that phones have had for years. Even my Nokia 6680 had multitasking. And that was yonks ago. no scratch that. My first 3 phone, NEC E616 had multitasking. I could use the browser, music player and messaging at the same time. People fall for the apple marketing gibberish everytime. |

Are APPLE not been taken to court in the U.S. as the Iphone 4 is, not 'fit for the purpose'?
Your hand covers the aerial, Apple have 'suggested' the owners hold the phone differently so as to avoid covering that part of the phone! A lot of angry people about, but of course people will still buy it. |

It's ridiculous. Even I know that you don't put an aerial in the bottom of a phone. It's just common sense. And I don't even do it for a living.

Plenty of people like myself aren't having any problems with reception. You'd realise that if you took the time to read the posts.
I would never pay £800 for an iphone though. Best to wait. You're right when you say "Best to wait"; always wait to see if there are any "teething " problems and it would appear there are plenty of problems with this gadget, I'm amazed Apple let it onto the market with so many. I think Apple have now gone into damage limitation mode. |
