Hmm, very odd. I don't suppose you have a GMail account do you? I think you can use the Google SMTP server if you have a gmail account.

It is definitely smtp.vodafone.net. Is there a specific port number i have to use? |

You could try these vodafone SMTP servers:
Email SMTP server: send.vodafone.net Email SMTP server: smtp.vizzavi.co.uk Alt email SMTP server: mail.vizzavi.co.uk Alt email SMTP server: mail.vodafone.net Alt email SMTP server: 212.183.156.229 Alt email SMTP server: 62.213.128.092 |

I had this problem the other day when trying to send an e-mail on a 3g connection rather than the wi fi I had been using at home.
You can actually set up more than one SMTP server so have all options covered so it can send e-mails no matter where you are or what type of connection you are using. I set mine up with the Primary SMTP server being the one I have set up on outlook at home and the 'Other SMTP server as smtp.o2.co.uk (but use your own network's SMTP instead, obviously). It did take a while to varify the settings and then I did have to got through the 'connect without SSL' option, but once done I can send and receive e-mails just how I would want to . Hope that helps in addition ot the other useful info that has already been posted. |

for Vodafone you need to use send.vodafone.co.uk
if it aint .co.uk it will be .net or .com |
