Will network streaming come to Foxsat HDR?
Just read this article on the upcoming Humax Freeview HDR FoxT2 and it briefly mentioned that there will be an option to stream recordings from this via a network to other Humax boxes around the house.
This is just the solution I have been looking for - one box to record but have the ability to play those recordings around the house. My question is - will the same functionality be coming to the Foxsat HDR? My preference is for a satellite signal as I feel the quality of the broadcast is better where I live.... |

Bob Cat has already said not on the current model. The hdr2 may well though.

It would be very nice if the FoxSat HDR2 was a full network enabled media player - with editable playlists [local and network]

News that the slingbox guys are doing a freesat+ box that will include streaming surely ups the anti on Humax with the HDR2. its now a certainty that advanced streaming functionality is on its way.
I'm not so unhappy with HDR as to swap for one of these boxes in the next 12 months ... unless someone releases one that allows the degree of flexibility offered by the Topfield 5800 - i.e the ability to load additional/replacement software modules, including replacement of whole EPG. |
