I have been in the Support group for 3 years and things have gotten so much worse since then. I have not had a formal letter, just a letter from the job centre demanding my appearance next week. I have not left the house in over a year. I am stunned. I think this is some sort of sick joke. I feel really despondent. I like to think the best of people but it is now clear to me that all people care about is saving money and if people fall by the wayside it doesn't matter. I don't know what to do now.

Challenge the decision. Write in asking for a "mandatory reconsideration". Google the ESA descriptors and see where you feel they have scored you lower than you think you should be scored. Include in your letter for each descriptor what you think you should have scored and explain why. You need to get 15 points to be in the support group.
Then explain that they have not taken into account your inability to leave the house. If your problem is a mental health one, explain that the effects of having to attend work-related activity would have a serious effect on your mental health and that the provisions of Regulation 29 should apply. This explains the regulation and how it should be used
.
It sounds as though your GP is supportive, if he will issue a medical certificate saying that you cannot attend the job centre appointment, cancel it and send in the certificate as evidence that you are unable to attend.
It's so hard to get a home visit that the very fact you got one should make the support group a given!
Get advice from the CAB, law centre or similar organisation, as decisions are rarely changed at the first stage and you will probably have to go to appeal.
