The November change is because of getting the Christmas bonus
I had this so when i phoned i had got the ESA renewed & was told it can be awarded for up to 3 years at a time but no longer so from what you put means you got it but they don't say in the letters when you will need to have it renewed again

Hi, can anyone help? I sent back forms for a ESA reassesment in the summer and heard nothing till last week when i got a letter saying something along the lines, ''YOUR CLAIM FOR EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE'' then underneath ''ACHANGE IN THE EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE RATE PAYABLE'' The letter then went on to say they have looked at my claim again following a 'recent change' and that i have been 'placed in the work related activity group', then stating how much i would receive from 8 November 2016.

Does this mean i have been placed in WRAG again without a medical? Or is this some sort of generic letter.
Thanks

I'd say that's exactly what it means!

I am writing on behalf of my sister in law.
Her son died christmas 2013 he was 10. It was an acvidental death. Well the esa form has arrived. She is in a bad place. The last thing she needs is to attend the assessment. What can we do?

Complete the form, ideally with help from a specialist adviser, and make sure it's returned by the deadline. If it's late, her ESA will be stopped.

Get as much supporting evidence as possible, and send it in with the form.

Add a bit on the form about the bereavement, and explain that she is still suffering dreadfully because of it. Add that attending an assessment will be traumatic for her, because her mental health has been badly affected because of her grief.

Where there is good evidence, they will sometimes renew the award without an assessment. She could be one of the lucky ones. If not, I'm afraid she will have to attend.

Copy of report came today, looking at it I "should" still be kept in support group. Should be interesting telling this to my PiP tribunal next month.
How can someone be in support group and not be entitled to some kind of PiP should be proof the assessment was not correct. Also used a piece of evidence that had been used to get me enhanced care to use it to refuse me. Looking forward to this tribunal now.

Well I am still in the support group for esa another 2 years, so that is some good news
My pip tribunal is tomorrow, so I am hoping that will go the correct way also.

Well, this is most strange. Finally got through to ESA about cancelling severe disability premium due to not being awarded PIP. They've got nothing on their system stating this is the case. He mentioned something about an 8 week run on of DLA if refused PIP? PIP refusal notice says 4 weeks.

Not heard anything yet from PIP regarding my reconsideration.

I was about to ask for my PIP assessment to be recorded, but I've just read that you have to bring your own recording equipment:

"Your recording equipment must be able to produce two identical copies of the recording at the end of the consultation, either in audio cassette or CD format. You will need to give one copy of the recording to the Health Professional undertaking your consultation, at the end of the consultation. Devices like PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones or MP3 players are not acceptable recording devices"

Maximus provided one for me, why can't ATOS do the same? I'm looking for cheap cassette recorders but they all have terrible reviews.

Great news, Phepia, and good luck with the tribunal.

This is true. You have to provide the recording equipment and be able to hand it over at the end of the assessment.

Managed to get a call back from ESA. I've been overpaid. Brilliant. So due to some cow lying and some idiot deciding he knows more about my illnesses than I do, I'm down over £130 a week and have an overpayment. Just hope this gets resolved soon. Odd how I met the same criteria for DLA and the only changes are now hearing difficulties and asthma.

I wonder if someone can help me with some questions about my PIP application.

I am hoping to move onto it from DLA (mid rate/low rate combo atm) and went to a welfare rights adviser to get it filled in. However, she didn't ask for any supportig medical evidence and I didn't provide any, is that likely to work against me? I am on it for schizo affective disorder and not seeing any professionals just now save my GP.

Also, how soon after you get a reply from ATOS do they pull you in for an assessment? I sent mine back in late November so should get a reply soon, but am planning three or four days away for a landmark birthday in Januray, and I don't want to book that and then get a letter in the post pulling me in at the same time.

Should I tell the DWP that I have a job now? It is not on their list of things to tell them about...

Don't rely on the DWP to contact your GP or to use your evidence from your DLA claim. I made that mistake of assming that when I was asked if I wanted them to use the evidence from DLA, they wouldn't. But they haven't. You need to send in the evidence.

I'd try and send in as much info as possible (even if a couple of years old for example), perhaps also a letter from your GP?

The length of time waiting for the assessment varies I believe.

Getting a job is a change of circumstance, so yes. You should always inform the DWP when you get a job, otherwise you could be done for fraud.

I'm not sure if this should be in this thread, but you know the envelopes that are freepost to the job centre which you put your sick note in? Where can you get them from or can I just write the freepost address on any envelope I have?

Its a bugger to get PIP letter before Xmas. Especially with xmas post. PIP 2 form will take longer to come I presume.

Good luck with it.

Havent got my PIP invite letter yet, hope mine isn't on the way.

Is anyone on Universal Credit now who was in the ESA support group?

Do they have to enter any info into their UC claim on line every week, or are they left alone like when they were on ESA?

My PIP assessment was cancelled today at the last minute because someone was too ill to do it. I couldn't help but laugh at the irony.

My pip tribunal is tomorrow, so I am hoping that will go the correct way also.
So I was completely let down by the tribunals and they awarded me 4 measly points. Not even enough for std care. I was on enh care/std mob.
My benefit advisor didn't show either, and I am too disgusted with him to even call and find out why. His charity is attached to my gp surgery and it is him who does their letters, so I have not got much of a chance imo.

So am I correct that I can reapply for pip, seeing as it was stopped way back in Feb 16?

I am not hopeful, seeing as the benefit advisor who helped me couldn't even be bothered to turn up to the tribunal for me on Tuesday. It was his letter/specialist help I was relying on

Hi all,

I got the PIP invite letter today as my DLA is coming to an end & I was wondering if anyone here have ever subscribed to the Benefits & Work service, if so were they helpful enough for the yearly fee ?.

Many thanks

You can get the same information free online elsewhere, such as cab.

Yes, you can!

I'd suggest getting a different benefits advisor to help with the form though.

Thank you for that I will have to take a look, am not quite sure what to think about this as I phoned them up to make the claim as the letter stated that I needed to contact them by the 2nd January, the lady I spoke to explained to me that they currently wasn't able to do applications over the phone & that they would phone me on Monday or Tuesday next week.

But the strange thing was that they phoned me just after 5pm this evening & went through a series of questions and then said that they would send me out a PIP2 form within the next 14 days, which would need to be completed & sent back to them.
