Poor Todd !
malaikah

in an ideal/real life situation, i do think that poor todd should have been allowed to see baby billy after he died, so that at least he got to hold and see him
edit:or still be able to, there is still time before the funeral

Sadly he wouldnt have had many rights as they werent married. Sad for Todd but I think you could see Sarahs point. He had an affair, regardless of whether he was having it away with a man or woman he was cheating on her and in the wrong. Poor Todd maybe, but poor Sarah too. - OMG im in danger of getting into to this too deeply!!!

it's his own fault-shouldn't have had an affair for whatever reason.

Nothing anyone does, short of being a danger to them, should stop a father from seeing his child.

In an ideal world, but whatever your feelings on Todd, Sarah was hurt, angry, upset and confused. Sad for Todd but if this were real life it would be understandable.

The woman has just been through a traumatic break up and a traumatic birth for Gods sake. She's still angry at Todd as well as being very emotional after the birth. Yes, some people may not agree with her but her actions are understandable. If the premature birth had happened a few months down the line then probably the people involved might have behaved differently towards Todd with regards to Billy's death. But as it is the break up is bound to be still affecting people. Lets give the poor girl a break.

by all means we *should* give sarah a break and her actions are understandable - she is no more than a child herself - her parents, however, should have taken control as sarahs hurt and trauma was clouding her judgement
martin and gail should have known so much better than that! - especially martin, being a nurse, should realise that when they say critical they really do mean critical - the baby's life lay in the balance and yet they still refused todd admitance to see his dying child
martin, too has had an affair in the past and should have drawn from this - had gail had had a child - would he think it fair that he had no right to see the baby because he fell in love with someone else?
no matter how much sarah was hurting this should not have stopped todd from seeing the baby - her family should have realised that no one deserves to never have seen their only child!

Or would it have been fair for Martin to be denied access to David? No I don't think so. Martin Platt being a bit hipocritical if you ask me. I agree Sarah's actions are understandable as she's deeply hurt and its tragic the baby died before she had time to even reconsider.

Yeah, in a way he is. I thought it was a bit hypocritical of Todd last night when he went mental about Jason saying that at least Todd could start a new.. sure, bad timing, but Todd had said a month or so before to Eileen that everything would be easier if Billy just died and he could start over! Jason had been trying to look on the bright side of a terrible situation, Todd seemed to have been serious..

Yes, one can understand why Sarah wouldn't want Todd anywhere near her or the baby, but I think Martin, Gail and Audrey should have got her to agree to Todd seeing the baby soon as they all knew the baby's condition was critical and there was the risk that he wouldn't make it. But it's apparently too much to expect Gail & Martin to remember that they're mature adults even if Sarah isn't and act their ages, for once forgetting all personal feelings they may have about Todd and what Todd ended up doing

I recall Sarah wanting to get rid of the baby too in the aftermath of Todd coming out - but she too is totally shaked by the baby's death

In the weeks between Sarah's last scare and baby Billy's birth & death the baby must have become much more tangible and real to Todd and losing him at this stage is totally different to losing him earlier

Hmm. So Kevin shouldn't have been allowed to see "the Gurls" after having the affair with Natalie, Martin shouldn't have been allowed to see David & Sarah after his affair with Rebecca? Get real!!!

Sarah's reaction is understandable. She's dealing with the shock of finding out that the man she loves has been having an affair & that she's gone into labour two months early & that the baby is ill.

However there is no excuse for what Gail & Martin have done. They are both old enough to know that you shouldn't be using children as weapons to get back at other people. Denying Todd the right to see his child whilst Billy was alive, then after he died and then not telling him when the funeral is is the most despicable act I have seen on Corrie for a long time.

Perhaps if the rumours about Nick getting Leanne pregnant are tre Gail might have an opportunity to find out how it feels to be on the other side of the fence is she refuses to let the Platt family see the child.....

What, again? I hadn't heard that.
That was the reason they broke up wasn't it, she had an abortion. Careless to let it happen again.

Sarah wanted to get rid of the baby due to the fatc she felt it would always remind her of Todd's betrayal. Todd's only reason was so that he could simplify matters and run off with Karl because nothing would tie him to Sarah anymore.

Like you said though, it was only a fleeting thought and once he got used to the idea of having a son and everything was put in perspective for him, losing the baby would've been the last thing he'd have wanted..

Still shouldn't have shoved the lovely Jason though!
