New YouTube Mobile launched - HTML5

Amazing.

The new mobile version of YouTube has launched.

It's practically the full site and standard layout with search, comments under the video, subscriptions etc and the loading of videos without leaving Safari or your other mobile browser. Just a flash-free version of it's big brother, complete with quality options.

The iPhone YouTube App is surely going to bite the dust as it is NOTHING compared to this amazing new fully featured flash free battery friendly non crash/freezing near desktop version of YouTube.

Hell is there anyway to use this version of YouTube on my Mac so that I can totally disable Flash?

If you ran Windows, Flash would work fine.

Well Flash is terrible on Mac, sometimes you load a page with flash and you can't scroll down the page for a number of seconds. Ruins the otherwise beautifully smooth Mac user experience so I'm glad that Flash is being phased out from web video delivery for a better, less obtrusive and more energy efficient model. I look forward to it's demise.

Anyway - let's not turn this thread into a platform debate.

Everyone should chec out the new web app - it really is great compared to the old one.

Just use the HTML5 version of YouTube.

Hi Dave.

Is it possible for me to select the HTML5 as the main preference from my account somewhere?
