If you got it off moneysavingexpert.com then they will have checked out that it is kosher. Check envirofone and mazuma mobile too. I checked all 3 out of curiosity and mazuma were paying the most for my 16GB iPhone 3G S at £213, envirofone next at £200 and rpc last at £190. Price will depend on your phone obviously but have a look at all 3 and see who will give you most

I wanted to get rid of a Cookie, a Nokia 5800 and a HTC Hero. I tried them and they're having a laugh. I wouldn't have got £150 for all three at Envirophone, the other one wasn't much better.

I was very impressed with the service from Mazuma Mobile. After sending my iPhone 3g to them, i had the money cleared in my bank account by the following evening. Got £155 for it, which pretty much paid for my upgrade to the new iPhone. You also get slightly more if you take the money in Argos vouchers, which could be handy if you are planning any big purchases.
My phone was pretty scratched and the case was slightly cracked, and they still gave me the full amount. I noticed some of the other recycling companies can deduct a percentage depending on the condition of the handset.

Did you send it by special delivery or did you use the envelope they send to you?

I got a quote of £282 for my 32Gb 3GS from money4mymobile.

It was on money saving expert. I've not seen anyone match this.

O2 offered me around £250 which was pretty good but still not as good as money4mymobile.

I used Mirror Go Green which had one of the best values for my old N96 using a comparison site. Posted special delivery on the Tuesday and had a cheque from them by the Friday.

I used the pre-paid envelope they provided but paid the extra for special delivery. I think it cost something like £5.50 but well worth it incase anything should go wrong in transit

Mazuma are a very good company but they don't offer very competitive prices at all, I like to compare before I buy or sell anything. I've found http://www.compareandrecycle.co.uk to be a great mobile recycling comparison site.

I have found the prices ofered by the local independant phone shop are pretty close to those offered by the big recycle companies and the deal is cash straight away.

Please be aware that a lot of these sites can change the price once they get your phone if they deem it to be damaged in any way. You then have no option but to accept the new price as they wont send it back. People have been done by sending off their phone expecting £100+ but only to be told the water sensor had been activated and it was worthless.

The MSE forums have lots of stories where this has happened,

Read the terms and conditions carefully and make sure they will send it back if you dont agree to any "new" evaluations.

Be careful out there.
