5-3 to Girls Aloud then. Their later singles are better than their earlier ones though - e.g. Biology, Call The Shots, Sexy! No No No, Untouchable, The Loving Kind, Something Kinda Ooooh etc. They definitely win fair and square over The Saturdays.

That doesn't tell half the story though. The Saturdays will never be a patch on Girls Aloud, especially if they carry on the way they have been going. They still haven't made one remarkable song - Girls Aloud have tons.

Can't vote on the last one, haven't heard "Missing You" let, and thought "Wake Me Up" was horrendous.

So that's Saturdays 4 - 3 Girls Aloud.

the Saturdays win for me.

not their fault though, that's down to the management. GA have been lucky with songs.

Although I think it would make sense comparing the last 8 singles as opposed to first 8

You're not serious? They were decent, catchy songs at the time but they won't be remembered as great pop songs. Girls Aloud have at least 10 singles better than both of them. Sound Of The Underground, Biology, Love Machine, Call The Shots, The Promise... I could go on.

I know it's not entirely their fault. Girls Aloud gave the amazing Xenomania

Hardly fair to compare that way when they've released 21 singles over The Saturdays 8

Well Girls Aloud's first songs came from 2002/3 while The Saturday's 2008/09. Music and "the sound" of the charts has changed a lot in that time.

Compare Girls Aloud's last 8 singles with their first 8, they're completely different sounds (all better, IMO) despite every single one being written and produced by the same people. You have the cheesy pop of Love Machine from the ealry years compared with the electro-pop ballad Call The Shots

Time is irrelevant in music, Im comparing both bands FIRST 8 singles to compare the singles released at those points in both bands careers.

I know it's my opinion, but what you said before was also your opinion. If you're saying I sounded like I was stating a fact, then that's exactly how you sounded with what you first said.

I know it's still relatively early days for The Saturdays compared to Girls Aloud, but they have just not built on the success of their first album the way they should of.

Chasing Lights gave them a breakthrough, got them noticed, and gave them a few hit singles, which was ideal. Wordshaker yielded a few minor hits but nothing approaching the huge hit song they needed at that time, hence why the album flopped. They are now on their 3rd album, and judging by the underwhelming Missing You, there are still no signs of them ever making a huge hit the size of any of Girls Aloud's biggest songs. If they don't hurry up and do so, I can't see them lasting much longer.

Well if it is their management, then while it's not their fault they can do something about it: sack their management.

That's exactly what Girls Aloud did and managed themselves before employing Hilary Shaw

Firstly I never stated what I said as fact it was merely my opinion you said none of The Saturdays singles would be seen as classics in a way that to me sounded as though you could see 10 years into the future to know such a thing.

As for Wordshaker flopping that is irrelevant they just released it with a mediocre first single, Ego went on to sell almost 300k, how many GA singles have done that? not many.

Missing You could well be a massive hit, no one knows YET. Oh and they aren't releasing a third album YET merely a mini album to satisfy fans before the proper 3rd album
