For some time now I have had problems receiving 11642Mhz the frequency that carries true movies, true movies 2, Chart Show, Flava, True Entertainment, Pop and Tiny Pop.
This frequency I think has been noted before as being one of the weaker signals from Eurobird. I know they don't carry much that some of us would want to watch but there are some movies on worth watching sometimes, but I either get pixellated or no signal.
I get 90% Signal strength and 100% Quality on all other channels but on this frequency my signal strength flips between being 80% Strength and 80% Quality to 0% on both.
I have tried myself and even had a dish guy out look at it for me and even he is foxed. He tried a Sky box on the dish and was able to receive all the channels, but my Humax Foxsat HDR still gives problems. I contacted Humax and they suggested I try a different postcode, which I did and that did initially make a difference but it has now reverted back to the flipping between 0% and 80% signal strength and quality.
Just wondered if anyone else had any ideas or does it look like another box swap with Humax?

Do you have a DECT phone or other WiFi device near to the receiver or the cabling from the dish? If so disconnect it from mains and remove any batteries. If channels return then move the device farther from the receiver. WiFi devices (in particular DECT cordless phones) are well known for interfering with certain frequencies on satellite and only affecting that frequency..

Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried disconnecting my Wifi Router and turning off all Dect phones and bases but that doesn't appear to have made any difference.
I have now even scanned my Fortec box (for Hotbird usually) and that was also able to receive all the offending channels. May be it's the Humax box itself that is poor at receiving that channel.
I know this is only theorising and all boxes have different sensitivities but if a Sky box and a Fortec box can receive the channels with no loss of signal even when all the Wifi and phones are turned on it must be a Humax box issue I think or at least that is the only conclusion I can draw.

I have an Old Comag SL 35, I have always found the eurobird
to be weaker than the other sats at 28.2.

I have a motorised system, and always find 28.5 about 10% or so weaker.including S4C

On my hdr 90% signal and quality on 60cm dish in the MIdlands. Most channels give 100/100

90/90 on 11642V that tp which isn't too bad.

For me one of the worst is 11222H which reports as 85 strength and 60% quality, this is done using a Humax Foxsat HDR, also I notice that using a fortec star 4200 receiver it seldom gives a signal report much above 79% and quality seems to frequently hover around 60% on most tps, not that I've noticed actual performance of the box to be any worse than it's figures would lead me to believe.

So I am presuming that you can view 11642V with no pixelation, but you must therefore have pixelation on 11222H.

Some of my 11000 range channels report 85% Strength and 80% Quality but are pixellated quite badly where as the 11642 reports no signal. All of the 11000 range that are pixellated are all from Eurobird.

I had my dish realigned professionally with a new Quad LNB on a 60cm Dish and over the weekend I have noticed that I have started to lose other frequencies in the 11000 spectrum on both V and H polarisation. I am beginning to wonder if the problem is the Humax box having problems in the HIgh band or some sort of switching fault on 22Khz. If the fault was only on H or V signals then it would be a switching issue but it is now on both.

I really don't know what to do next apart from ask Humax for a replacement as I did another test this morning on my Fortec Star and was getting in the high 70%s on all the bad channels on the Humax and they were all perfectly viewable, may be the Humax box is a more sensitive beast than the Fortec.

Anyone else any ideas or suggestions?

I have no pixelation on either tp in normal conditions, I'm using a 45 cm minidish with a quad lnb, only in very heavy rain or snow does the pixelation start, I'm using a 45cm minidish with a quad LNB although I admit a 45cm dish is quite useless in heavy rain or snow.

I also get weak signals on Eurobird - and I have managed to get rid of the pixelation (in current weather conditions anyway) by adjusting the LNB skey from that for Astra -18.6° to EuroBird's -26.3°.

I had thought of skewing it by a few degrees but as it was professionally set up I would have thought that it would have been taken into account by the installer. Strange though how reception on the non humax boxes is ok though although this could be due to Humax being more sensitive.

I managed to find time at the weekend to re-point my Hotbird Dish which is about 8 feet away from my Astra Dish and connected the Hotbird dish to my Humax box, managed to get all channels with good signal strength and no pixellation.
So there is either a localised interference from a neighbours dish or there is something wrong with my 18month old cabling or new LNB. So I do seem to be getting nearer to a solution. Having read a thread in one of the other satellite forums 11642 mhz does seem to be affected by WIFI routers particulary N Band and some DECT phones, I did try disconnecting my Router from the mains and turning off and disconnecting my DECT phones but that didn't make any difference to my reception. Could it possibly be a neighbours DECT phone or WIFI router that is causing the problem? Who knows as long as I think I have found a solution.

There are obviously reception issues with the 11000mhz frequencies in my area, it may be linked to a local mobile transmitter site or even VHF link to a local reservoir from a water tower, but I do finally have a working solution.
I have pointed my 90cm Dish at 28.2 and upgraded to a 0.1db nr level LNB most signals coming through at 100% Stength and Quality. I have had to point my Freesat/Sky Dish at 19.2 to continue receiving channels that I originally got from 13.0 Hotbird.
But at least all channels are good quality and should be unaffected by rain/snow fade etc.
