I don't see the connection.

Anyway, I posted above about the hypocritical condemnation.
Most people are hypocrites at some time or another, but we don't make such a huge issue out of it.

Even HMs we like make errors from time to time. We must all be hypocritical at times,.but even if kitten was hypocritical you would think it was the crime of the century. ”

I wasn't trying to connect the two in that way. She hates tabloids yet she does a deal with them for the money. That's the hypocracy.

She makes a lot of points yet when HMs disagree with her she can't argue with them so she calls them ignorant.

But when advancing an argument, do you do so believing it to be flawed and lacking the potential to persuade?

So?....She did a deal with them. A deal.
That's not the same as saying that she hates them, but loves them really.
She may still hate them, but decided that there was a benefit to have a platform to tell her side of the story instead of relying on CH4 to interpret her how they want to.

She called the HMs ignorant.
She probably did the wrong thing there, but she was very distressed and angry, and looked like she wanted to lash out.
but then again, she may have been right,..they could well be ignorant.

Unless you condemn yourself as well, you are in a catch 22 situation.”

I don't understand? Why am I a hypocrite and where and how am I guilty of what I am accusing Kitten of? Can you be more specific? I should like to answer whatever point it is you are truing to make.

I have engaged in dialogue with you on the assumption that you know what socialism is. Please assume that I do, too. I am not suggesting that you are anything like Kitten. You are often coherent and lucid. I don't quibble with your assessment of her entertainment value, but I disagree with you as to her value as a spokesperson for the causes she ostensibly espouses.
Ooops, the water is hot. Must return to the kitchen and mop the floor.

Have just read the this thread with great interest... many valid points here. My tuppence worth is that Hetty seems much like Kitten - albeit more articulate!

Oh come on.
Don't think that you can pretend it didn't happen a couple of pages ago.
YOU KNOW very well, that you criticised the talk in the temporary deviation in this thread about George Dubya and the nazis,....only to start talking about the very same subject yourself a few posts later. You called it a "conversation killer" as some of us remember.

I made the point ages ago,.....I don't want you to answer, it's not a question.
I'd just let anyone who's interested to check back a few pages if they care, rather than going over something again.

Whatever you said, the point about hypocrisy is whether anyone has been guilty of it.
Can anybody honestly hand on heart admit to being so perfect that they have never been hypocritical in the past?
And if not,...was it worthy of the same condemnation attributed to Kitten?

Just shows that her political views go out the window when there is a buck to be made. After dissing the Sun on live tv she gives her story to its Sunday paper , the News of The World. Hey though, I would have done the same. Hello Lynn

Maybe somebody should tell our politicians that.

You cannot be serious and equate the utterly trivial 'conversation killer' posting with selling out the political cause you ostensibly espouse. In any event, you are quite wrong. I said lightheartedly that the introduction of Nazism is a conversation killer. You took exception to that - god knows why, you, the champion of lighthearted comments. In an interesting posting Biomorph made reference to a shady deal between the US and Nazi Germany, to which I responded as I felt I was able to contribute. That most definitely makes me a hypocrite. Actually it would be more of a double standard, if it were one. Why not just ignore this hypocrite's postings in future?

I do hope I haven't suggested that Kitten has any value as a spokesperson for her causes (which she may or may not have)....she appalling at it...I've enjoyed her time on the show but it's obvious that she need sto refine her technique if she wants to make a positive thing of it....which I believe she conceded during her interview with Davina....Kitten represented Kitten....Big Brother is to dangerous an enviroment to become a representative of any group...by dangerous I mean the potential for which hate figures are created, which pulls down the ideas as well as the person.....We're watchng a gameshow, not holding a general election.

On the other hand last years opinion vortex was a problem because we never got to know them until it was too late.....There is a fine line to walk here.......

i am always very sincere, and i hope to feed and stimulate thought.

of course it gets frustrating at times if i feel i'm the only person with a particular perspective. and of course i have beliefs that i feel would so "obviously" make other people's lives better if they too adopted those beliefs.

but persuade? i prefer the concept of infecting.

No, I didn't take exception to anything.....stop twisting.

It was when you changed your mind and decided it was no longer a conversation killer by posting about it again, that I took the mickey.
You can post what you want, but don't be surprised if somebody points out when you're trying to have your cake and eat it.

I haven't a clue what you're talking about "the champion of lighthearted comments"......that must be something that's popped into your own head, I haven't a clue where that came from.

...now that you're just making any old shit up, maybe you should just let it go now.

If you want me to ignore you on this conversaion killer thing, then please, just stop bringing it back to me.
You don't have to explain yourself to me if you don't want.
You have only yourself to convince.
It's a non-argument.
It means nothing to me, forget it.
