iPhone 4 - Has anyone with the yellow blotches on screen had them 'dry'
As per the title - the yellow blotching that is apparently the adhesive not quite evaporated, have any early adopters seen it actually dry and the yellow disappear as was rumored?
I got a replacement on Wednesday due to something beneath the glass on my first phone and this one has a faint line of yellow along the bottom of the screen. I wasn't concerned as everything I've read said it would disappear over a couple of days but all of these reports were on 24/25 June. I've not seen any reports on the issue since then and certainly mine hasn't disappeared at all since Wednesday. Seems to fade when the phone is cool and not being used and rear it's head when it's warmed up a bit from use. |

You should return that one as well, this isn't the sort of thing you have to put up with on a phone in that price bracket.

Or give it a couple of days and see. Nothing like them rushing it out a little 'wet' to cope with demand and people (read: Apple haters) saying it's shit, get it back to the shop.
If it disappears, fantastic ! If not take it back. Simple. |

It'll probably fade just before the iphone 5 comes out next year.

I had the yellow line, rather Han the blotches on my first iPhone 4 ( as well as a couple of dust particles under the glass). I got it exchanged at an apple store and the gig in the store said that although he had seen quite a few of the blotches which do tend to fade, mine with he line was the first he had seen or heard of it and that it was not he same issue as the blotches. Mine never faded in the five days I put up with it hoping it would go.
My advice would be to call apple today and get an appointment straight away at your nearest apple store to get it replaced. Don't forget to do a back up first and erase everything off. My second iPhone 4 has been fine with no issues. If you are able to do on the day you get the replacement, stay in town for a few hours and really use the phone a lot until gets quite warm. This will help show up any yellow on the screen as the line on mine did not show up until the second day I had mine. If you notice any issues before you go home you can go back to the store and get them sorted out rather than having to book another appointment and go back another day. You can download one of those free torch apps that turns the screen White in order to really inspect the screen. |
