(excerpt)

'THIS has to be the strangest sandwich ever - a LASAGNE butty.

Keen to liven up their range of sarnies, bosses at Tesco put its top selling ready meal between two slices of bread. From tomorrow, Britons can buy the world's first lasagne sandwich - complete with a slice of pasta - for £2. Dubbed the LAS-andwich, it was inspired by students who reckon the mixture of cold lasagne and bread is the ultimate snack.'

Try this link - http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news...-sandwich.html

I think it could be quite nice actually. I wouldn't buy one though.

Just had another thought...shame the bread isn't garlic bread. Mmm!

It sorta works. I mean a meatball sub and a sloppy joes are perfectly acceptable sarnies so I'd be quite happy to have a bit of White or cheese sauce with those but I don't understand the idea of pasta in there or eating it cold.

I will try it though.

If it was served hot in some nice crusty bread then I might understand it. But cold....no.

I've seen worse. That pic looks like it holds together quite well.
I'm not a fan of cold pasta though.

I was watching Man v. Food yesterday and it had a Macaroni & Cheese sandwich
and that's by no means the messiest they've had on

This takes some beating as the world's least appetising sandwich:

Sounds rather nice, im gonna have to give it a go.
You can put anything in a sarnie, just use your imagination. Didnt anyone ever experiment as kids? When I think back im pretty sure a sandwhich was made that consisted of many ingrediants that included Marmite and Hundreds and Thousands.

A Pukka steak & kidney pie sandwiched between 2 medium slices of lightly buttered bread, no sauce. Done it, was gutbusting fantastic at the time. Don't need to do it again. And yes it was after an alcoholic session.

If it was on a bun it would be a slightly more spiced and tomatoey sloopy joe wouldn't it.
Doesn't sound too bad to me
I'd prefer it on chips though

my one weakness is a spag bol sandwich when we have it I would imagine that lasagne would be equally as nice in a sandwich - well a home made lasagne anyway - not sure about the tesco one because I don't like tesco's lasagnes

Pointless carbs. That's the unhealthy part.

Or something more classy:

You need carbohydrates to live. Without them your body would not work.

Sounds nice but the bread in that picture looks awful. I can imagine quite enjoying it hot and in a freshly baked tiger loaf but having it cold in that bread... no ta.

I'm a huge fan of Lasagne but I've never heard of a Lasagne sandwich. I don't think I like the sound of it but I'd probably buy it once just to try it.
