PVR9150t or PVR9300

Lokking to buy a new PVR after my digifusion is now almost useless after they turned off the guide updates.

I think Humax is the way to go but is the PVR9300 worth the £30 over the PVR9150

The 9300 has:

320 GB against 160
Alphanumeric front display over just LEDs
Phono audio output
Optical audio output
HDMI output with HD upscaling (but considered not worthwhile over using the TV's own upscaling)
Composite video output (RCA)
Your call.

That's the one to get. It can output radio and TV recordings via USB2 straight to your PC so you can make lossless DVD copies.

The picture and sound quality will be identical to the original broadcast and you'll fit more on each disc.

I can get three hours of BBC programmes on one DVD, or nearly five hours from a channel like More 4 all without recoding.

If you're willing to learn a little about firmware updating and TAPS, it would be worth searching local Currys/PC World for the Topfield 5800 PVRs which they've recently discontinued - priced at £79.97 (the 5810 which includes an HDMI output but no RF modulator isn't yet reduced, and is also not recommended due to buggy standard firmware and heat/ventilation concerns).
The TF5800PVRt (facelift) has a 250GB HDD and Freeview+ firmware, although downgrading it and installing "Mystuff 6.2" makes it a superb machine. Easy transfer of recordings from (and to) it with a PC.
