I have posted this on another forum and it seems to suggest a hardware problem but thought I would post here in case there are any other things I could try before I consider a new Foxsat.
I've just bought an external usb hard drive for the Foxsat hdr here
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/wd-ele...50026-pdt.html
It was formatted to ntfs so deleted the partition and formatted to fat32 put on a couple of jpegs but the foxsat just wouldn't see it.I then formatted to Linux ext3 with Norton PartitionMagic in windows and put on some jpegs but once again the Foxsat does not see it.Tried both usb ports with no luck.Just wondered if it could be this particular hard drive or there are any configs for the Foxsat I don't know about..The hard drive works ok in windows if formatted to fat32 ntfs etc.
I have to use the rear port as the front port does not even light the hard drive so is presuming it's "dead".
I was told to try a powered hub (my hard drive is usb powered)as some hard drives can be "power hungry"but the powered hub did not work either.I've had the Foxsat for just over a year now and lost the receipt anyway from where I bought it (somewhere on the internet) so the warrenty is of no use.I know it's a long shot but any comments would be greatfully recieved.
Failing that, any ideas where I could get it repaired?
Thanks.
