Biggest drop from number 1 (singles chart)
Anyone know of any statistics of the biggest drop from number one on the singles chart, the biggest in recent times was Mint royale - Singing In The Rain which fell from 1 to 8.
Got my fingers crossed JLS break the record. |

HH - Everybody Hurts dropped 1-9, but that did spend two weeks at 1 so didn't drop directly as such, plus as a charity record it's of course going to have a weird chart run.
In terms of "normal" songs Pixie Lott's 1-6 drop with Boys & Girls last year was the biggest for a while, perhaps since Mint Royale even? Most songs fall from #1 to remain in the top 5 |

McFly have had a couple of rather epic drops I think. Although come to think about it Im not sure they were all number 1.

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the age range of their fanbase?

the McFly drops are not only a testament to the poor quality of their singles but also the way inwhich their singles get to number one - their HMV marketing campaigns and appeals to the simple minded young girls. How deserved!

Also Elvis Presley's 2005 reissue of One Night/I Got Stung fell from 1-20.
