If it was up to the public and you had to decide this week which should be taken off of the air forever Corrie or Eastenders - what would you go for and why?

Personally I would have to say Eastenders as I feel for the past year or so and especially the past few months it has got more dill wheras Corrie has got better and better ever since Brian Park was at the helm.

Corrie has had explosive storylines which have been handled sensitivly and acted fantasticly wheras Eastenders seems to be going for sensationalisim with things such as Sharon & Dennis even though the whole incest storyline was done on Brookside a few years ago and that was actual incest wheras Eastenders was just dancing around it.

Anyway thats my opinion whats yours?

Eastenders would have to go.

I used to HAVE to see it, but now I can't be bothered.

However, I never used to watch corrie and now I am addicted!

EE for the chop. I'd actually miss Corrie if it went, whereas it's that long since EE has held my interest I simply wouldn't care very much if it went. It's a shame as I used to love that programme

Eastenders has the better characters present and past. Definitely Corrie for the chop.

I think in some senses EE may have better characters but Corrie has better actors and writers therefore the whole show works much better.

In my opinion anyway!

EE and here are a few reasons:

*Unrealistic storylines
*Unlikebale characters e.g The Ferrira's
*Too much emphasis on these "gangster" storylines - Come on it isnt a Guy Ritchie film.
*Show revolves around Shane Ritchie and Jessie Wallace way too much. 2 Characters do not make a show.

In fact I wouldnt be surprised if it gets the chop.

I think it is revolving to much around the Watts at the moment.

EastEnders would definitely have to go. It has rubbish storylines, bad scripting, crap characters and some really bad actors!

Although corrie has picked up in the last year or so, EE deals better with serious storylines such as Kat's abuse by Harry, Ethel and the euthanasia, little mo's domestic violence to name but a few.

Corries seemed to be a bit far fetched and comical (although the writing is hilarious and clever) such as the Richard Hillman serial killer (as if!!), Fred and Orchid (words can't express the stupidness of this storyline) and the tracy barlow/roy cropper thing (again, words can't express).

So, and this is only my personal opinion, I would say EE to stay as it has entertained me more overall. Again I will express this is a personal opinion, I have noticed that unless you agree with certain people, it can get nasty!!

Well, i would choose corri for the chop.
i think Eastenders is realistic and deals with decent issues in todays world. However i would first have to rid the show of characters like den, andy, ian and others before i would make the decision.

Corrie is good and is a good soap, but i feel it still lacks something and i dont know what, to make it a good soap. i think its more for the older generation. since i am only 18 and have been watching EE forvever.

so im with corrie for the chop.

I'd pick EE to go. It has become very unlikable in the last year and Corrie has become way more likable. This all could change for EE is they axed some of the current characters and got rid of Louise Berridge. I might JUST be tempted back....

Eastenders would have to go even though i have enjoyed watching it in the past through all the sharon/grant/phil to tiffany/grant to peggy/frank/pat and all of Janines having said that i havent watched EE since Janines final ep because there is no character left that you can actually feel for good or bad they are all just as bland as each other and dont warrant any kind of feeling.

Corrie i love it, all recent storylines havent annoyed whatsoever and thats saying something considering Claire and Ashley have been involved but somehow the writing makes it watchable even if it is between those two. When i first heard about the todd gay angle i thought they were just trying to sensationlise plots in order to get ratings ala EE but they have made Todd the most likeable character out of it all and that is a hard feet considering he did effectively nreak up a family, it just shows how great the writing is, how great the acting is, etc just everything about Corrie is constantly better than any other soap.

Another plus for Corrie is the fact that they have the lovely Maria and Karen!

Sorry James EE is like coal from China - far fetched.

Corrie has been on the go for 40 years and is not just a good soap but a great one. Try watching it for a few weeks and get into the stories and you will find it even more entertaining than Deadenders (not that that would be difficult)

So goodbye EE

Corrie for the chop no question about it! From the one episode I have seen in a number of years it's as much of a joke as it's always been, plus it seems to be getting more and more violent. Everytime I pick up the paper there's some exclusive about some fight that's going to happen. EE is better at dealing with real-life issues.

I think I would axe EastEnders. Even though I've watched it and still do, I dont really care about it anymore. IN Coronation Street there are so many likeable characters and the writing has been great. EastEnders lacks any sense of humour, any likeable characters and storylines that as one poster said, dance around issues like incest and focus way too much on gangster storylines. It used to be a show with real stories that real people identified with. Albert Square could be on another planet it is that far gone from reality. It would be a shame though as its had some classic storylines and characters.

EE because I used to watch it all the time and now I really don't care if I watch it or not. The storylines bore me to death and I find a lot of things that happen in it really annoy me. Corrie has drama but can also do comedy which is good. All this EE is more realistic stuff is crap because funny things happen in real-life but rarely happen in EE

LOL I agree strongly!

EE is too far-fetched, for starters since when have you walk in a town in the UK that has bene ruled by gangs? Its that far-fetched someone like Sam Mitchell in real-life would be either killed, beaten up so badly they'd be wheel-chair bound, raped or sent off to a distant country such as Australia.

Sadly guys, "Deadenders" forthcoming storylines are more of the gangster shit involving young Dennis. Expect a dip in the ratings to below 5 million, especially now with Euro2004 and Wimbledon.

Eastenders Realistic? How can a family of 5 (The Ferreiras) not be able to get a mortgage? Maybe because they all work on one stall, two of them is a dj and one a teacher that is out of work (or am I wrong?!? :/ ). 5 people to be able to pay a mortgage. But we are forgetting they live in London but can't venture out to the city and get a job (as did Natalie...so it is possible ) Everyone seems to live off of their parents/siblings (Vicki...what the hell DOES she do and Spencer...why are you working the Vic?!? and poncing off your brother).

They are all gangsters...but live in tiny houses? From what I know Gangsters don't live in little houses but extravagant apartments and have flashy cars?!?

There is/was a car lot....but no1 in EE drives? (I know the same is in Corrie and a car only turns up when we need it, but come on!)

EVERYONE in EE is miserable...that isn't true life...at least ONE familly need to be happy!

Sorry I went on a bit, I am sure there is more. And before anyone accuses me of hating EE..I used to love it, wouldn't miss it and I thought Corrie was for the older generation and dull...oh how times change! :/ Lets just hope they return to to it's former glory...they are gonne need to...their 20th Anniversary is in Feb and they are gonan need alot of help to celebrate this!
