I had a ticket for Martina McBride's gig at Indigo2 on June 28th. She was due to play London and several shows in Ireland,as well as some in Norway. At the end of April a statement appeared on her website saying the European dates were being postponed due to "scheduling and routing issues". Nearly three weeks later Ticketmaster emailed me saying that the gig was postponed and that I should keep my ticket as a new date would be announced shortly. I then found out that the Norway dates had been cancelled and they (Ticketmaster) had been emailing customers with tickets for the Irish dates telling them their shows had been cancelled and that tickets should be returned for refunds.

There having been no further word or communication,I checked the forums on her website and found a post from someone who had emailed the management and received word back that there were now no plans to reschedule London. Which I pretty much expected, since there was virtually no way they'd reschedule and fly over for one date. However when this person contacted Ticketmaster she was told that as far as TM are concerned it's still postponed and they won't issue any refunds until they receive official confirmation from the promotor that it's cancelled. On the other hand the o2 website says, quote,"Should patrons not wish to wait for the rescheduled date, full refunds are available from point of purchase". So at the moment we have no gig and conflicting information over how.or when,a refund can be claimed. What a mess.

Update. I had an email from TM saying the show was cancelled and that my card would be refunded. When said refund came through it was short as they didn't refund the postage charges. I rang and queried it and was told that their terms and conditions state that if an event is cancelled they will refund only the face value of the ticket plus the booking fee. Anyone know if this is this actually legal? Or does the law say you should receive a full refund of all monies paid?
