And how many of them 165.000 will actually return them or just get a bumped?! .
The clincher for Apple is that most are tied to a contract.
No doubt the £840 or so contract would still be payable.

So what was Apple actually offering? Could it be that the contract can also be cancelled but uncertainty of it means that most thinking about it won't cancel?

I can't help but think that this issue could drive one heck of a wedge between Apple and providers.

Later this week Apple will have a site up to choose one free case/bumper.

In the US, if you bought the phone from Apple or AT&T you can get a full refund AND they will put you back onto your old tariff within 30 days if you return the phone.

Presumably O2 is trying to get confirmation from Apple that if they offer the same here, Apple will pick up the tab for any returns.

My i phone 4 is sim free but after waiting 3 weeks for it to arrive their is no way this fantastic Smart phone is going back.

If I thought it was a crap phone I could put it on Ebay for £ 750 as i phones are still sought after and most people who are actually in the market to BUY this phone are not taken in by the media bull and hype.

Apparently O2 need more time to work out the details with Apple and will update on Wednesday.

And now it looks like O2 are stalling. Not good if you're an O2 customer and want to return your iPhone. It will be 30 days very soon...

So Jobs even keeps things hidden from his hostages. (otherwise known as partners).

Probably costs them far too much to sell it in the first place so any more cost will be a 'no no'.

if that is what they are fetching it is obscene. I admire Apple (we have 6 of their devices in our house) but to spend £750 on a phone before even contemplating connection charges and calls/texts is totally beyond my comprehension.

Makes my £10/month HTC Wildfire contract with calls, texts and internet look a total steal and that phone isn't a million miles away from the iphone when you get down to useability.

A tethering app for the iphone!
http://gizmodo.com/5592521/how-a-guy...-tethering-app

Anyone get it in time?
More incentive to jailbreak considering it was a must have app for many.

Not alot of use considering most networks limit you to 500MB - 1GB.

1GB is plenty. I've done a ton on a dongle that I have, including plenty of content-heavy websites, YouTube etc. I don't get anywhere near the limit.

This is assuming that you aren't using tethering to replace a home connection. And, of course. some networks (like 3) give you a lot more data for not a lot more per month.
