Nobody will be able to send it to you because it has not been broadcast yet (for your Wharfedale LP/HDMI box). The recent OAD was for the earlier version of this box that didn't have LP mode.

OAD for this model hopefully coming from 10am this Friday.

Well i think i leave my box set not to update this weekend, as previous users are reporting negative results with the v13.0 software issue.

I use the winterhill tx which went fully digital in october 2009, and dont have any problems with jumping or stuttering

I have an amazing announcement to make about my Wharfedale (well, it's amazing to me ).

This box was almost completely unusable from Day1 (refurb from Aria). Skipping, freezing, random FF-ing, out of sync, you name it. Aria said I'd have to pay if they decided there was no fault and you know all about Sod's Law So I put it aside for months, occasionally gave it a try, no dice. Then I connected it up in anticipation of OADs, set on BBC1 and auto-scanning for updates (none found of course). Then a couple of days ago I watched some live TV on it for a few minutes - no probs, so I scheduled some recordings - all fine, and EPG response is faster than the same model Hitachi.

As you can imagine, fingers and toes are crossed that it survives the OAD

Sorry that's a bit wordy but I'm "over the moon" and must share

That's good news. I hope it lasts.

I don't think it can be done, Kryton

BTW, my Wharfedale T825 LP/HDMI has been skipping syllables (sometimes more than one) since v13.0. It had been performing well for a couple of weeks before the OAD.

The un-updated Hitachi (same model as the Wharfedale) randomly reboots occasionally.

We experienced a couple of events this week, since the update, on my brothers Wharfedale LP160 (non-HDMI). He does not recall getting these previously.

When putting the unit into "normal" standby overnight the clock is not displayed the next morning (i.e. as though it is in Low Power standby). The unit is not in LP standby as it fires up immediately on pressing the standby button. This is repeatable.

On one occasion this week a few seconds after I had started playback of a recording the unit went into a spontaneous re-boot. The unit spent an un-usually long time in the Disk Initiallisation process.

That's strange - that's exactly (no clock display in standby; spontaneous rebooting) hpw my un-upgraded Hitachi LP/HDMI behaves

So maybe it is a issue with the software? Anyone else experiencing this?

That'll be related to the box rebooting at 3am to check for OADs. Just like your box, the clock display is blank on my T835 too, even when not in low power mode. With automatic updates off, this issue won't show up.

Oh yes, I've just reset the Hitachi v12.4 to Disable scanning and the display has returned. Once done, you can then set it to Enable and the display remains... until tomorrow morning, I presume

Since my last post there have been 2 live TV freezes, BBC2 Euro Athletics - it may have been protesting cos the BBC showed the whole of the men's marathon

I have the Wharfedale non HDMI non TUTV LP250 and I have experienced the same thing. In addition on my unit if it has been left in standby after a couple of hours or so (I haven't timed it) the clock goes off. It reappears when I take the unit out of standby although it hasn't gone to Low Power.

This is not the only problem that the box has experienced since it changed to V13. The box has always been abit hit or miss - the biggest problem being sometimes getting stuttering recordings (this has been reduced by moving it as far as I can from other RF sources). It had been running OK for a while but since it changed to v13 its gone downhill.

Two new problems in addition to the above is that it manages to change its setting on the set up screen from not allowing Low Power to allowing Low Power. I have to change it back half a dozen times this week as low power is a bit of a bore (I normally unplug at night but a couple of times recently I haven't so it picked up the update).

The second problem is that on two occassions I have lost all of the channels except those on the main BBC multiplex. On the first occasion 4 attempts at first time installation bought them back. On the second occassion this didn't work. Having tested all the connections and managing to tune in a different freeview box to all the channels (to eliminate the transmitter and my ariel) it would only show the BBC. After three days another attempt at retune and all the other channels are back.

I'm waiting to see what happens next but v13 has certainly been a backward step for my DTR.

I understand that the new version was done due to DSO. As I'm in a pre DSO area that hasn't be relevant to me yet.

Futaura's post #12 relates this to the 3am update search.

I had that issue on the previous software except in reverse, i.e. mine would not retain the Low Power setting for very long. A First Time Installation cured it for me, but as you have already done some FTI's for another problem this may not work for you.

It appears to me that you may have low signal issues.
